Yoon Jae-seong's 66-day training in English
Yoon Jae-seong's 66-day training in English
Description
Book Introduction
3-step practical training to help you listen and speak English as perfectly as a native speaker.

Just as a newborn baby learns to speak, 'language' is something that is acquired unconsciously by repeatedly hearing and repeating many sounds.
But we didn't learn English this way, and because of our ignorance of English pronunciation, we couldn't hear or speak real English sounds.
The reason why you can't understand English well no matter how much you listen is not because you don't know the words or grammar, but because you haven't developed the 'English pronunciation habit'.
I hope that you will move away from writing and memorizing sentences and start learning English through 'sound'.
This book presents a three-step training method: 'Step 1: Learn the real pronunciation of English with your ears and mouth → Step 2: Listen to the sounds of native speakers and imitate them → Step 3: Perfectly acquire the sounds and meanings through repetitive training', and is structured so that you can practice consistently for 66 days.

After completing 66 days of training…

Into the book
The core of 『Yoon Jae-seong's Sound English 66-Day Training』 is learning to speak by listening, not learning to write.
This book includes a process of writing down the sentences you want to learn as you hear them.
And on the back page, there are English translations and meanings for each sentence.
This is in no way a test to see if you know how to write, nor is it intended to teach you how to write.
Writing down what you hear is simply a necessary step to check how well you listen to English before attending the lecture and how well you listen after attending the lecture.
So, if you don't know how to spell it or can't hear it well, it's better to write it in Korean.
_7p, is it okay if I don't know the alphabet?

This method is very suitable for children who are learning English for the first time.
Because you can learn English through sounds just like you learned Korean, you don't have to study boringly, and because there is no prejudice against learning English, you can better focus on the sounds.
And children must learn English this way.
It is much easier to learn proper English pronunciation early on than to correct it later after you have become accustomed to our own English pronunciation.

_10p, can kids do it too?

The reason the training lasts for 66 days is because it incorporates the research results from University College London in the UK that if you repeat a certain behavior for 'at least 66 days', it can become a habit.
A research team at University College London in the UK conducted an experiment in which they had participants perform simple actions repeatedly every day.
As a result, it was revealed that it takes 'an average of 66 days' for that behavior to become a habit, which was also confirmed in an experiment conducted in the KBS special documentary 'Escape from Last Place! Habit Transformation Report'.

_11p, why 66 days?

I am an office worker who wakes up at 6 am and has to travel long distances.
Even in the early morning, when I'm incredibly busy, I turn up the volume of my lectures and get ready for work.
If you move around busily and listen and repeat for about 10 minutes, you will hear the native speaker's pronunciation and you will find yourself speaking along without realizing it.
(Omitted) Not only is the effect of practice so great, but the fact that it can be learned easily and without burden is an advantage that I have never experienced in any other English learning method.
Consistent practice is very important when learning English, but that's precisely why it's the hardest thing to do.
_92p, the biggest advantage is that it is fun.

When I first encountered English by Sound, I had doubts about whether I could actually learn English since I didn't know much about vocabulary or grammar.
I was especially worried because I had hardly ever studied English before.
(Omitted) As I repeatedly listened to the sounds and spoke them to get used to the pronunciation, I also got the bonus of getting used to the words and sentences with my mouth and ears even though I wasn't trying to memorize them.
As I started learning one or two words like a baby, I started to see that I, who couldn't even speak English at a middle school level, can now hear and repeat many words. This makes me more confident that even if it takes a long time, I will definitely be able to speak English like a native speaker.
---p.108 Even I, who knew almost no vocabulary or grammar, was able to learn.

Publisher's Review
The moment you hear the real sound of English
I can finally speak English!

『Yoon Jae-seong's Sound English 66-Day Training』is an instinctive method to learn English through 'sounds' alone, just as a newborn baby learns his native language by listening to his parents and repeating their words.
However, to learn English in this way, you must have the prerequisite of being able to hear the sounds of English clearly.
However, most people in our country have the problem of not being able to properly understand even the words they know.
There is a difference in pronunciation between Korean and English, but because we were not aware of this and tried to speak and listen to the sounds as we pronounce them, we were unable to hear the sounds even for words we knew.
It's the same reason why native speakers can't understand the English we use.
To solve this problem, we need to listen to the sound by recognizing the characteristics of English sounds that do not exist in Korean, namely 'strong accent' and 'breathing'.
English is pronounced by putting a strong accent on each word with breathing in the lower part of the throat. To hear these English sounds clearly, you must first train yourself to accent the sounds with your mouth.
This book introduces the secret to perfectly embodying the English accent and breathing.

Learn living English through Hollywood movies
125 sentences, 66 days of practical training!
The unique feature of 『Yoon Jae-seong's Sound English 66-Day Training』 is that you learn English using lines from Hollywood movies, rather than the pronunciation of an announcer recorded cleanly in a studio.
This is 100% identical to the English that native speakers use in their daily lives, so if you can't understand the movie, free communication with native speakers is also impossible.
If you can hear the somewhat rough but vivid voice of a native speaker, you can even enjoy the effect of easily understanding the sounds of English for tests such as TOEIC or TOEFL.
The book contains 66 days of training in which you can listen to and pronounce 125 sentences from 9 scenes from Hollywood movies.

[How to Use 3-Step Practical Training]

STEP 1: Listen to the 'sentence repetition' and write down what you hear.
Check your current status and check the words you can't hear.

STEP 2 Listen to the sound as guided in the 'lecture' and repeat it.
Learn English pronunciation with your ears and mouth, including accents and breathing.

STEP 3: Listen to 'Sentence Repetition' repeatedly.
Use your spare time to listen to English sounds and fully understand the meaning of sentences.
