Recently, at the Academy Awards, actress Youn Yuh-jung delivered her acceptance speech in English without an interpreter, full of humor, wit, and emotion. Kim Min-ha, the lead actress in the drama "Pachinko," also told her own stories in various interviews with fluent English.
Their acceptance speeches and interviews weren't the result of sitting at a desk and studying hard.
I grew up experiencing English-speaking environments firsthand or watching and listening to a lot of content in English.
English is no longer a subject for school grades or entrance exams.
It could be the 'key to success' that leads our children into the wider world.

Like many people who dream of living abroad for a month, three months, or a year, I decided to take my child with me and live abroad for a year.
More than anything, I wanted my child to see, experience, and feel the vast world firsthand, and to be able to run around and play freely in the vast nature without having to go to and from academy.

Although it may only have been two years, as a mother and an educator working in the field of education, I have been humbled by the Canadian educational system.
Canadian education is centered on teaching students how to fish, and doesn't try to impart textbook knowledge piece by piece.

Canada offers a variety of affordable programs at community centers, recreation centers, and sports clubs in every neighborhood, making it a great place to experience a variety of things.
After school, it is certainly meaningful for children to go out to the park and play, go to the library and roll around with books, and spend quality time at home with their mother.
But why not try out activities you've been hesitant to pursue in Korea because they were too expensive, too far away, or simply too difficult to navigate? Why not try something different by hanging out with Canadian friends?

If you go to the Craigslist site (vancouver.craigslist.org), you can see all the rental properties at a glance.
Just choose a house you like based on your desired neighborhood, location, housing type, price, etc. and contact us.

If you go to a small church in your neighborhood, you'll find small, little-known ESL programs.
It is often a survival English program for immigrants who attend church, especially working immigrants.

The "reward" of going to Universal Studios Florida to see Harry Potter after reading the original Harry Potter books will be the best external motivation for children who have already read the books in Korean but haven't been able to bring themselves to read them in English.
Reading Harry Potter in its original language will also significantly improve children's English reading skills.
However, we must be careful, as offering this kind of 'compensation' to children who are not good at reading English books can actually have negative consequences.
