There are many indirect expressions in the conversations we have every day.
When we ask someone to do something, we say, "Do you have a spare hand?", when we tell them not to change the TV channel, we say, "Dad, I'm not sleeping.", when we meet someone we're particularly happy to see, we say, "How long has it been since I've seen you?". We see that we use indirect expressions a lot in our daily lives.
We also find that such indirect expressions can convey our meaning in a more playful and humorous way, sometimes indirectly and politely, and sometimes powerfully and forcefully.

Indirect expressions like these enrich our language, but accurately grasping the true meaning behind them is not easy.
This is because it requires a series of processes to accurately grasp the speaker's intention by considering the speaker's personal position and situational context, checking the speaker's attitude, facial expression, tone, and nuance, and appropriately utilizing the meaning of common sense and idiomatic expressions that are known.
Especially for friends who lack social skills or language comprehension skills, or foreign learners of Korean, it may be difficult to understand only the superficial meaning of words and find the hidden meaning.
