“Teachers are public servants”, “Leaving the teaching profession depends on intelligence” are self-deprecating sayings that are said to come out in the teachers’ community.
Even if there are no extreme incidents or accidents that have become social issues, the annual renewal of the mid-term retirement rate for elementary school teachers shows that these statements are by no means an exaggeration.
How did teachers, who were in the spotlight for their stability and excellent work-life balance, end up like this in the 2010s?
The author, who has worked as a teacher, scholarship officer, head of a teachers' association, director of a research institute, and national lecturer, diagnoses this problem from three major aspects.
First, the social perspective that does not recognize teachers as experts.
