Class Coaching
Class Coaching
Description
Book Introduction
Class coaching is the act of helping students solve their own class problems.
That is, it allows teachers to strengthen their teaching strengths and improve their weaknesses through reflection on their own teaching.
Class coaching basically involves deeply understanding the inner self and behavior of the student and helping them solve their own class problems.
Teachers cannot experience growth in their classes simply because others criticize their mistakes and unilaterally provide the correct answers before the students ask for them.
You should praise the teacher's strengths.
Questions should be asked to allow students to reflect on their weaknesses.
We must be able to find solutions to students' concerns through collective intelligence.
True classroom growth can only be experienced when teachers, rather than classroom experts, are empowered to come up with solutions for classroom growth.

This book comprehensively covers all aspects of lesson coaching, including lesson reflection, lesson observation, the stages and techniques of lesson coaching, lesson sharing and collaborative lesson design, motivating learning, establishing order and teaching methods, and ways to improve teaching skills.
To understand the complex and nuanced inner workings and behaviors of students, we approach the subject based on various counseling psychology theories, including Gestalt psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, reality therapy, behavior modification theory, and individualistic psychology.
It covers not only curriculum and teaching techniques but also ontology, relational theory, and teaching philosophy in the four dimensions of teaching (who/why/what/how).
We address specific plans for teachers' growth through a holistic and diverse approach to teaching.

This book helps you view classes from a three-dimensional perspective through a deep understanding of the class and an approach from various perspectives.
So, I think it will be especially helpful to those interested in the teaching growth of other teachers, such as head teachers, teaching consultants, school administrators, school superintendents, and educational policy makers.
The teacher always supports the class.

Publisher's Review
The latest guide to classroom coaching!
A practical summary of class coaching that asks questions, praises, encourages, and solves problems!

Reflecting on my experience as a class coach on educational broadcasts like “The Teacher Has Changed” and “Back to School”!
Essential textbook for training teaching coaches to help other teachers grow in their classes!

Based on the author's extensive knowledge and experience in class coaching, this book covers almost everything about class coaching.
The author has worked as a class coach in elementary, middle, and high schools and universities for over 10 years since appearing as a class coach on the EBS program “The Teacher Has Changed” in 2012.
In 2020, I continued my work as a class coach on the educational broadcasting station “Back to School.”
I have worked as a head coach and training instructor for class coaching programs hosted by the Seoul, Chungnam, and Sejong City Offices of Education, and have also operated class coaching programs in the Ansan, Cheonan, and Sokcho Offices of Education.
Following my previous works, 『Changing Classes』(2012), 『Class Growth』(2016), and 『Class Community』(2018), I have systematically organized my knowledge and experience related to class coaching and published it in the form of a class coaching manual, reflecting the recent educational reality after COVID-19.
We specifically introduce lesson coaching techniques that reinforce the instructor's strengths through praise and encouragement, and complement the instructor's weaknesses through questions, challenging exploration, and feedback.
This book is also an essential textbook for obtaining the private class coach certification from the Class Design Research Institute.
It will be of practical help to teaching consultants, senior teachers, school administrators, and teaching support team teachers who help other teachers grow their classes.
