Publishing the 5th revised edition.

In 1986, when I started out with equipment that was so poor that it could hardly be called audio, the places I diligently visited to study more were Jongro Bookstore, a Japanese bookstore near the Chinese Embassy in Myeongdong, and a technology bookstore above Seun Shopping Mall.
At that time, it was unimaginable that information could flow out with just one click like it does today.
Even though I was a college student majoring in computer science, I was still learning about LAN in theory, let alone the ocean of information.
It was a time when I didn't even have a clue how to study.
I was just starting out on the ground, and then I received Yamaha's Sound Reinforcement Handbook as a gift from an acquaintance, and it made me realize how important an accurate book is.
After finishing my short studies, I came back and started working, got married, and the first edition of this book was the one I started writing over the course of two months, in response to a proposal from the publisher who said he would publish it if I just wrote it out of courtesy.
I started with the idea of ​​writing it as simply as possible, not just delivering knowledge, but making it digestible so that anyone could easily understand it. If my wife didn't understand, I would rewrite it, and that's how I started.

15 years later, the publisher said that all the books were returned within a month of publication.
It may have been because the publisher specialized in Christian books, but there was no demand for them.
However, it is said that orders for several copies have started coming in from Kyobo Bookstore.
And as time passed, the number of books exceeded 100,000, and those who started studying with those books back then are now in their 40s and 50s and are now in charge of important parts of each field.

Before I knew it, I was at an age where the ridiculous story of my 60th birthday in two days was actually approaching.
It's been 31 years since the first edition came out, and it's become a book that has been loved by many for such a long time.
As we published the fifth revised edition, we proofread, added newly organized content, and corrected some misunderstandings.
He also mentioned some of the new technologies that have emerged recently.
Additionally, after returning to Korea permanently in 2019 and going through the difficult times of COVID-19, I started a new recording studio that everyone was talking about.
I started by persuading them that if they didn't do it now, they would definitely regret it for a long time.
Of course, it's not easy to spend 20 years abroad and start everything anew, but I'm still working hard and running each day.

As I approach 60, I will strive to provide even better articles and resources to help you master difficult sound techniques.
