“The path to becoming a social worker is not easy.
Because it requires expertise in various fields in the field and in practice.
Students majoring in social welfare will walk the path to becoming professional social workers through a series of courses divided into required and elective subjects for each major.
Among these, social welfare field training, which serves as the final gateway, is a very important field that can be said to be the core of social welfare education because it is an academic discipline that directly practices various theories and methodologies of social welfare on individuals, groups, and local residents in the field.
For this reason, this textbook was written by a diverse group of authors with years of experience in both school and practical settings, and aims to provide practical methodologies and examples to facilitate practical social welfare field training.
The composition of this textbook is based on the social welfare curriculum guidelines created as a guideline by the Korean Council for Social Welfare Education and the social welfare field training guidelines of the Lifelong Education Association, and we have tried to faithfully follow their contents. In the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19, we focused on writing it with the initial preparation for internship that interns must have, the prerequisite process before internship, the middle and end process of internship, social welfare practice theory required for internship, information on internship institutions, and forms required for internship.
In particular, we have organized the training so that students can indirectly access the training content through reference forms for each type of institution regarding the various contents required for the training report, and thus have a more systematic and active training when participating in the field training.” - From the preface
