Case Conceptualization and Goal/Strategy Workbook
Description
Book Introduction
The "Case Conceptualization and Goal/Strategy Workbook" provides a step-by-step detailed look at counseling cases (adults, adolescents, and college students) and the case conceptualization process, and is structured so that you can follow along and practice.
Additionally, a complete transcript of the first session was included, along with commentary on the counselor's verbal responses.
As a scientist, I wanted to share with readers what the counselor's intentions were in his response.
Of course, the counselor's verbal response is only an example and is not the correct answer.
Therefore, we strongly encourage trainees to explore better linguistic alternative responses individually or in teams.
To lead by example in finding alternative language responses, the authors of this book conducted initial counseling sessions for both adults and adolescents and provided complete transcripts of the counselor's language responses and their commentary.
Lastly, in the case of the college student cases, in order to alleviate the regret of providing only the first counseling session for all three cases, the entire counseling process (sessions 2-10 out of a total of 10 sessions) that took place after the first session was presented in the form of a session summary in the appendix.
Therefore, I encourage readers to individually or collectively review how the counseling goals and strategies established based on case conceptualization were achieved.
