Book Introduction
Seismic design of underground structures according to the Building Seismic Design Standard (KDS 41 17 00: 2019) takes into account the deformation of underground layers due to earthquakes, which is different from the concept that has been conventionally applied so far.
Since this is not a design method used in the past, we tried to minimize confusion among practitioners by creating a collection of examples and repeatedly presenting and discussing them to form a certain level of consensus among practitioners, and we tried to avoid major errors.
