There is no book that makes learning draping as easy as this.

In the process of compiling the three volumes of 'Basic Skirts', 'Basic Tops', and 'Top Applications', which were written for readers with no knowledge of patterns, into one volume, 'Understanding and Applying Draping', a revised edition was published with features such as shawl collars and power sleeves that were omitted.
The three existing volumes are available as e-books.

This book is written in a way that beginners can easily understand, with over 800 numbered photos and explanations in the order of work.
Moreover, it explains even the most basic tasks, such as line tape cutting, which are rarely found in other books.
It starts with a simple skirt, moves on to a top without a collar and sleeves, and then moves on to a jacket with increased difficulty.
In the first part of the skirt, the process of preparing the fabric is presented, but from the top onwards, you are asked to prepare it yourself.
Also, since there are cases where what was explained in the previous part is repeated and omitted, it will be very helpful to work through it in order from the beginning.

In fact, this book is used in many schools as a textbook to teach the basics of draping to students majoring in fashion design.
In the first semester, you will learn models 1 to 17, and in the second semester, you will learn models 18 to 28.
Each course concludes with a review of the effectiveness and application of the skills learned while working on your own creative designs.
Even for general readers, it is recommended that they first practice the basic course sufficiently and then move on to the advanced course.

The ultimate goal of this book is to foster creativity that will allow you to create original design ideas, starting with an understanding of the relationship between the human body and basic patterns.
In reality, it is not uncommon for unexpected mistakes or unintended results in the process of work to develop into new ideas.
Therefore, we must repeatedly strive to cherish and develop even the smallest design ideas that we stumble upon while draping.
