Author's Note

I became interested in web crawling at my first job, gathering information on competitive products.
At the time, the team was performing repetitive tasks such as directly copying product names, prices, specifications, etc. from sales sites and entering them into Excel for planning in the first and second half of the year. Organizing 600 to 1,000 pieces of data was a huge inconvenience.
This was the opportunity for me to start studying Python and writing automation code.
I think that those of you who have opened this book have probably experienced similar discomfort.

Hearing this story, you might wonder if learning programming is really necessary for web crawling.
In the past, the standard answer was, “You have to study to be able to make it,” but things have changed.
Because the advent of useful tools like ChatGPT has significantly changed the way we approach programming.

The recently popular 'vibe coding' refers to a method of creating programs in human language.
In the past, you had to learn grammar in languages like C, Java, and Python to write programs, but now you can implement fairly complex operations with just a simple instruction like, “Make this OOO program.”
Of course, there are cases where the knowledge of a professional developer is required, but it has become possible for anyone to easily create programs needed in daily life without any specialized knowledge.

This book embraces this trend and easily creates web crawling programs with just prompting, using services like ChatGPT and DeepSeek.
Since I have no intention of teaching programming, I intentionally did not include a single line explaining the code.
In other words, there is absolutely no content about variables or loops.
There's no need to type in the code line by line.
Instead, the programming knowledge essential for prompting is repeatedly explained during the prompt input stage to make it easier to understand naturally.
It would be really easy to create a web crawling program in about 5 minutes.
I hope this book will be of some help to those of you who want to reduce the time spent on repetitive collection tasks and focus on more important tasks.
