Park Young-sun's Prayer
Description
Book Introduction
How should we pray?
What is prayer, why should we pray, and how should we pray?
A book that provides answers to questions that everyone struggles with while living as a believer.
The author argues that prayer is a believer's privilege and that prayer testifies to the greatness of our status as children of God.
We tell them that we can confirm God's plan through prayer and that we can experience God's work even through prayers that are not answered.
It also corrects the wrong ideas we have had about prayer and tells us what prayers we are praying for incorrectly and what prayers we should really pray for.
Therefore, we can realize what kind of prayer God wants and what we should obtain through prayer.
No matter how hard we pray, things don't come true and situations don't let us out. I encourage us to think about God who hears our prayers and reflect on our attitude when we pray.
So, he emphasizes that we should not be discouraged, but should always pray and enjoy the richness of the life of faith that comes through such prayer.
In addition, it presents the direction of desirable prayer that we should offer in united prayer, representative prayer, and prayer that the church should offer.
Above all, it is a journey of faith lived through prayer, and I encourage you to lead a life of faith that does not end with prayer alone.

Into the book
Prayer testifies to God how great our status as children of God is.
Prayer is not simply an act of asking for a result and then getting an answer.
It is a matter of explaining, making excuses, and clinging to God.
This is a communication and conversation that is only possible in a truly deep relationship.
Also, prayer is a privilege.
Because through prayer we go beyond our own personal concerns and needs and become partners in God's governance and providence over creation.
God reflects in His governance the statements made by humans, His creatures, according to their individual circumstances.
So the highest level of Christian faith is obedience.
Because when we obey, we become true partners with God.
Because through obedience, life becomes the purpose and content of God's creation, and we can participate in the completion of creation.
So the words, “Pray without ceasing, pray always and do not lose heart,” are an encouragement to believe in God’s faithful rule and participate in it in all cases and circumstances of history and life.
A person who prays becomes a person who dedicates his entire life to God, remembering the words, “From him and through him and to him are all things” (Romans 11:36).
In prayer we confess this before God:
To him be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:36)---From the Introduction
-The Bible does not teach about prayer in the form of, “If you pray, everything will come true.”
If that's what prayer is, it's no different from putting a coin in a vending machine, pressing a button, and getting what you want.
God becomes a machine that must listen to our prayers.
--- p.12
-God knows everything before we even begin to pray.
He hears our prayers as earnestly as we are.
So what the text is saying is that God knows His children's circumstances best and loves them deeply, but He may not grant their wishes.
Even if you love me, you may not listen.
… (omitted)… However, it is clear that in no case will God’s heart and will toward His children be weakened.
The Bible declares that God's compassion and will toward His believers will never be lost or weakened, and His children will never be abandoned.
So the Bible tells us not to be discouraged.
--- p.30
Sometimes God gives us answers without solving our real-world problems.
He does this without breaking or eliminating the reality we perceive as a problem.
Rather than developing the ability to overcome reality through prayer, we often find ourselves in a situation where we feel as if we have been swallowed up by reality.
But that's where God gives us the answer.
… (omitted)… We only think that when a flower seed is planted, the ground swallows the flower seed.
It's like not receiving an answer to a prayer.
When prayer is not answered, it seems as if the prayer has been swallowed up by reality.
But later, if you look back, that unanswered prayer embraces reality and reality becomes a flower garden.
