Into the book
The fact that we 'praise God' means that we accept that He is in charge of all things and that they always work together for good.
Otherwise, it would be absurd to thank God.

--- p.9

You can experience true joy and happiness in situations that previously seemed miserable, and those situations can really change.
However, this should be the 'result' of praise, not the 'motive'.
Praise is not a negotiation with the Lord, so we should not say this.
“I will praise the Lord, so bless me!” To praise God is to rejoice in Him.

--- p.16

God has a perfect plan for our lives, but He won't move on until we joyfully accept our current circumstances as part of that plan.
What happens next is not our doing, but God's hand.

--- p.23

Faith does not come from feelings, emotions, or sensations.
It's a matter of will.
Being saved by faith means accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior not by feelings or emotions, but by an act of will.
It is deciding to believe that something that cannot be confirmed by the senses is true.

--- p.63

The Christian life is an endless journey of faith.
It's a good idea to keep a record of the path you've taken so far.
It will serve as an important reminder of those difficult days when we felt stuck.
Looking back, we can praise and thank God because He led us.

--- p.70

The more you praise God, the easier it will be for things to change.
Joy will increase and pain will become less noticeable.
Moreover, the more difficult the situation, the more we will realize that true strength and power come only from Christ who dwells within us.

--- p.132

God has a dual purpose in teaching us to trust and praise Him in all things.
To reveal God's power in our circumstances and to draw others to God.

--- p.206

When we are content in Christ without complaining, we shine like a lighthouse, proclaiming the word of life in a dark world.
As it was in Philippi, so it is today.
Let us stop complaining about all the dark and crooked things around us and give thanks to the Lord.
Let us look to the light of God that pierces through the darkness.
--- p.226

Publisher's Review
“Gratitude changes everything!”
A record of miracles created by the power of gratitude

The author of this book, Merlin Carothers, deserted from his military service and ended up in prison. He then dramatically encountered God and began a dynamic adventure with God as a military chaplain.
The Power of Gratitude is a collection of miracles that can happen when we apply the biblical truth that “all things work together for good” to our lives.
It simply, clearly, and meticulously explains why and how numerous biblical principles of gratitude work in our daily lives.
