Publisher's Review
Last night my dad… …
One dark night, Dad came home.
Even the owl clock that points to 2 a.m. looks at my dad with pity as he comes home late after drinking.
I guess I should forgive him because he's a loving father who never forgets to buy ice cream for his cute son Hoya.
But how can this be done?
My dad put the ice cream in the fridge upside down and left without even closing the door.
As the refrigerator alarm beeps, all the food inside comes back to life! Everyone's complaining, and the fridge is bustling with activity.
At this point, the brave Yogurt Brothers step forward! The ice cream might spill and dirty the entire refrigerator, so they decide to move the container to the coolest spot possible.
But then you end up causing a bigger accident.
The ice cream container spilled over onto the Castella.
While the Yogurt Brothers are at a loss, this time the Chocolate Chip Cookie Family steps in.
They move around like soldiers and firmly block the ice cream from flowing down.
Just when I thought I could finally catch my breath, the Strawberry Sisters from downstairs came up to find out what was going on upstairs.
Aiko, the melted ice cream must have looked like swimming pool water to the Strawberry Sisters.
“It’s a swimming pool!” All the refrigerator friends gather around to the sound of splashing water while shouting.
I thought it was a good thing the refrigerator door was open and it was hot.
Now the fridge is a real mess.

Everyone is excited, but Brother Yogurt is worried.
It's because of none other than Hoya.
How disappointed would cute Hoya be to see all the ice cream his dad bought melted and ruined? Whispering, whispering, whispering… The Yogurt Brothers must have used all their wits to prepare the ultimate plot twist.

“Picture books are children’s entertainment.”
A picture book that brings joy to children: "Kongkongkong"

The picture book "Kongkongkong" is a cheerful picture book in which friends in a refrigerator have a lively party.
This picture book is full of elements that children will love.
First, various foods that everyone likes in the refrigerator appear, and these foods come to life and move, unfolding wonderful events.
And at the center of it all are the Yogurt Brothers, who look just like regular kids.
He tries to take the lead in resolving the crisis that has befallen Refrigerator Town, but fails every time, and yet he continues to try to solve the problem.
And finally, with the help of his friends, he creates a huge turnaround.
At the foundation of all these efforts is a warm heart that thinks of Hoya.
It is said that most children have an 'animistic worldview', which means they believe that all things are alive.
So, for children, things that come to life and speak may not be a made-up story, but perhaps reality itself.
The picture book "Kongkongkong," in which foods come to life, chatter, and create lively events, is overflowing with the vitality and cheerfulness of children.
Japanese picture book editor Akifumi Doi said in his picture book guidebook, “Start, Picture Book,” that picture books are “entertainment for children.”
I think a picture book that is close to the essence is one that children can fully enjoy, one that makes them say, "Please read this again" after closing the book.
《Kongkongkong》 is a picture book that was created with the children's minds as the top priority, in order to get closer to the essence of such picture books.
We hope that the sight of the little refrigerator friends, including the Yogurt Brothers, playing happily and solving the crisis that comes to the refrigerator themselves will bring great joy and courage to children.

The first original picture book by an illustrator with 23 years of experience!
Picture book author Jeongju Yoon has been working as an illustrator for over 20 years, always illustrating other people's writings.
Although it is a job, he says that he enjoys playing and entering into that world every time he draws a piece.
If it's a piece that I can't fully immerse myself in, I tend not to work on it at all.
As the word "illustration" comes from the word "to shine," I have been working with the belief that illustrations should not overwhelm the text or show off their own style regardless of the text, but rather help the text be readable and enrich the text.
Perhaps for this reason, author Jeongju Yoon is the first choice illustrator for award-winning works and flagship books from publishing companies.
There was even an incident where Japanese fairy tales that he illustrated in Korean versions were exported back to Japan.
This time, author Yun Jeong-ju shyly brought out a book she had written herself for the first time in front of young readers.
When an illustrator first releases a work that combines text and illustration, the temptation to show off flashy handwriting along with a lot of powerful content is the most common.
However, author Yoon Jeong-ju has created works that prioritize the young readers who have enjoyed her books for over 20 years.
And in the review of the work, he left a short comment: 'I hope you all enjoy reading it.'
The only meaning of author Jeong-ju Yoon's picture book, written and illustrated by herself, is that the adults reading this book, along with the children reading it, will smile, even if only for a moment.
