Of course, I also studied Chinese history by reading such books.

Into the book
But the problem is! It's not clear exactly who these Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors are.
In some regions and among some people, the Samhwang and Ohje are called 'who, who' and in other regions, the Samhwang and Ohje are called 'so-and-so, so-and-so'.
In short, it is definitely not organized.
Besides, it's confusing whether they are gods or humans.
It was so bad that in the first Chinese history book, the Records of the Grand Historian, written by Sima Qian during the Han Dynasty in BC, the first part of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, the era of the Three Sovereigns, was boldly deleted.
At the time, Sima Qian was not sure about the 'Five Emperors' part in the latter part, but he thought that the 'Three Emperors' part in the former part was too exaggerated and not properly organized to be included in the official history.
---From "The Age of Myth"

However, contrary to expectations, Dong Zhuo's empire collapses due to internal rebellion.
Dong Zhuo had a bodyguard named Lu Bu, but he did not get along well with Dong Zhuo.
One time, Lu Bu even rapes Dong Zhuo's female servant, and after that, their relationship is on the verge of breaking up.
Then, Lu Bu ends up murdering Dong Zhuo.
i know.
This isn't the story you know, is it? You probably know that the beauty "Chochan" appears, and in the process of competing for her, Lu Bu kills his "adoptive father," Dong Zhuo.
That is a creative story that appears in the novel 『Romance of the Three Kingdoms』.
The woman named 'Cho-seon' is not a real person, but a fictional character.
---From "The Chu-Han Period and the Three Kingdoms in History"

Emperor Taizong of Tang, who witnessed with his own eyes the downfall of the Sui Dynasty due to reckless civil engineering projects such as the construction of the Grand Canal, never carried out such reckless civil engineering projects during his reign.
And when there was a famine, he immediately cut taxes and even used his personal royal wealth to support the people who had no way to make a living.
you're right.
Although he killed his brother and ascended to the throne, he truly carried out politics for the people.
Listen carefully to the harsh words of Wei Zheng.
That is why the Chinese people respect Emperor Taizong of Tang as a sage king.
---From "The Divided Continent of China"

Europe began the Age of Exploration and began establishing colonies around the world in 1492. So, nearly a century earlier, China had been sailing the globe. So why didn't China achieve global dominance, unlike Europe? The purpose of their voyages was different.
While European countries like Spain had colonies or trade as their main purpose for voyages, the Ming Dynasty's voyages were a show of force, proclaiming, "We're the best in China! Kneel down!"
So after showing them “This is the extent of our strength!” we didn’t sail any further.
It was just a one-time 'power show tour' around the world.
---From "The Ming Dynasty and the Manchus Who Conquered the Continent"

The joy of delving into Chinese history and finally realizing, "Ah, now I can see the larger picture of Chinese history," is something I've come to appreciate! I wrote this book to share that joy with you.
I wrote it as simply as possible.
Why? Because we learn history not to "show off our knowledge," but to literally "know things as they really were."
The process of finding out doesn't have to be difficult.
