Seasonal Fragments
Description
Book Introduction
I read poetry and write about life.
We often find kites in life.
Maybe that kite is you.
These are neatly organized short essays that capture the author's attention each season.
I found a sentence in those short stories and wrote down the meaning behind the sentence.
Some writings read like letters, some feel like monologues, and some read like reflections.
The author says:
Happiness is important in our lives, but dealing with sadness is even more important.
As if to prove it, the first letter says that if sadness comes to a loved one, it will shut the mouth of sadness.
And then he turns around and promises to let the person he is talking to hear his voice.
“It’s nothing.”

Into the book
There are good memories and bad memories in this world.
There are days when a smile blooms on my face, and days when I can hear the sound of rain.
Since one person is too small and fragile to live with everything, it is better to give them warm and beautiful memories.
Giving you the day that suits you best.
I call this the heart of choosing flowers for someone you love.
Even though I am a flower that blooms for only one day and then withers.
---From "A Flower That Blooms for Only One Day"
I may seem like a drunkard who talks nonsense and has nothing to learn, but when the day comes when I can't learn without drinking, I want to have my shoulder instead of alcohol.
On days when you feel like life is not living and you feel the denial of existence, so that you can comfortably lean on me for your precariousness.
We must live with affection.
---From "Affectionate Prejudice"
At least that's the love I know, it doesn't make excuses.
When the body grows distant, the heart does not grow distant, but when the body grows distant, the heart becomes more affectionate.
It's not that the feeling of love disappears because you can't see it, but the more you can't see it, the more you want to reach out to the other person.
---From "The Flowering of the Sea"
“Today I saw a scene that was like an inscription that I could not touch.
As the spring flowers were falling, the maple trees were enveloped in the energy of autumn.
I guess I got the four seasons mixed up because the spring weather was similar to fall.
As if Hwayangyeonhwa will come even if the flowers don't bloom.
As it says, everyone's life is splendid even if our lives are not full of spring days.
I wave my hand in joy at the unexpected greeting.
“Even in spring, leaves fall.”
---From "Non-literature"
The heart is invisible, but anyone can feel it.
What kind of heart is blowing in me?
Where is my heart blowing?
As I feel the wind blowing, there is a gentle breeze that comes to my side without me knowing and keeps blowing.
A pleasant, non-annoying nagging.
A wind that becomes one with my breath.
Yeah, that's right, good people always come like this.
As if the regret had disappeared, it became something like an expectation.
Like the sound of a pleasant breeze.
“These days, the wind blows in my heart, you blow.”
---From "You Split"
Shall we walk a little?
Let's walk with our strides aligned and at a leisurely pace.
So, what I'm saying is, let's get to know each other a little better.
Rather than bragging by saying, “I am this kind of person and this kind of person,” it is better to say, “Actually, I am…” and reveal each of your painful aspects.
Let's leave behind the good and happy times and share the sad and painful times with each other.
Without any comfort, without any sympathy.
I just want to tell our honest story.
---From "Shall We Walk a Little"
Even if there are aspects of that person that you don't like, even if the direction we pursue in life is different, even if our marriages don't match, you can still hold on to your affection for that person.
When we can embrace the aspects of others that we consider flaws, we become people who deserve to be called "loved" rather than "liked."
---From "Long-lasting Lovers"
What makes a person breathe when he does something, and what kind of person makes him laugh a little more when he is with someone.
When dry times came to me as emptiness, was I someone who immediately tried to drink water, or was I someone who loved even that dryness?
I must become a person who knows how to feel myself, on the edge of silence and taciturnity, by asking myself trivial questions.
You must know that this is what will protect you.

Publisher's Review
Should the beginning of the four seasons be seen only as spring?
In our lives, the four seasons may be the starting point of each season we were born in.
With this in mind, the author of this book lives his life viewing winter as the beginning of the four seasons.
A writer who was born in the cold winter and lives his life with warm words.
The story of the seasons contained in the book also begins with winter and flows according to the author's own seasonal flow.
Perhaps seasonal moments that we might easily overlook around us.
Moments of the season that I couldn't bring myself to write down, but which remain vaguely in my memory.
The author looked at the afterimages of such seasons through his own perspective and expressed them in his own unique thoughts.
Where has your gaze been focused during the seasons that have passed so far?
Perhaps, it is not scattered in a series of countless afterimages.
As you read this book, I hope that your afterimages will come together to create your own season.
I hope you can find your own life in your own season that has been created like that.
If you have discovered your own season and life through the author's words in the book, there is one last thing I would like to ask you.
What season have you been living in?
What season are you living in now?
What season do you want to live in from now on?
