Five years later, at the recommendation of world-renowned spiritual leader Wayne Dyer, he published his story as a book through Hay House Publishing in the United States…

This book is an autobiographical account of Anita Moorjani, a woman who suffered from cancer, experienced a near-death experience, and returned home, writing about her journey through cancer, near-death experience, and complete healing.
It tells the story of how and why he got cancer, what he experienced and realized during his near-death experience, how he was completely cured of cancer after his near-death experience, and why he returned to this world.

In the revised edition, published to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the book's publication, the author spends about 40 pages after the original content talking about the events that occurred in and around him in the 10 years since the book was first published, and their meaning.
Starting with the story of how her life changed from an unknown person to an influential author and speaker who heals hearts around the world (she has been selected as one of the '100 Most Influential Spiritual People in the World' by the prestigious British journal [Watkins Journal] for eight consecutive years), she talks about the death of Wayne Dyer, which brought her to the world stage, and the many synchronicities she experienced at the time. She realizes that the reason she often feels drained and burned out while healing people (and the reason she had cancer in the past) is because of her empathic nature (especially her extraordinary ability to empathize), which allows her to absorb the pain and energy of others, and kindly shares how empaths can proudly love themselves and be a light that brightens the world.

Into the book
It didn't feel like I had 'physically' gone anywhere else.
I guess it would be more accurate to say I 'awakened'.
My soul was finally realizing its true, magnificent self! And in doing so, it expanded far beyond this body and the physical world.
The soul stretched out farther and farther outward, eventually encompassing all existence and extending beyond this space and time into another realm, while simultaneously including it.
Love, joy, ecstasy, and awe poured into me, and I was lost in it.
I was swallowed up and surrounded by a love that was beyond my imagination.
I felt freer and more alive than ever before.
--- p.113

I realized that I had a duty to always express my unique essence to myself, to everyone I met, and to life itself.
Trying to be someone or something else has not made me a better person.
Rather, it only took away my true self! (……) Not becoming my true self also took away from this universe the very being I came here to become and express.
--- p.119

I realized that by simply becoming love, which is my true self, I could heal myself and others. (……) If we are all one and are aspects of the same whole, and if that whole is unconditional love, then it is only natural that we too are inherently love.
I realized that that was truly the only purpose of life.
To be myself, to live my truth, to become the love that is my true self… I felt my father and my friend Sonny approaching me and speaking to me as if to confirm this new truth I had discovered.
'Now that you know who you really are, go back and live your life without fear!' --- p.132

I still didn't feel like I had to 'do' or 'try' anything.
I just had to be myself.
Without fear! It was allowing myself to become an instrument of love.
I could see that this was the best thing each of us could do or be, for this planet and for ourselves.
(……) I was happy just to be alive, to have another chance to express myself here.
I didn't want to waste a single minute of this great adventure anymore.
I wanted to be 'me' as much as possible, and enjoy every moment of this wonderful feeling of being alive, savoring it without missing a single moment.
(……) It seemed more important to laugh and have fun.
(……) Now I was not afraid of anything anymore.
I was not afraid of anything: sickness, aging, death, or lack of money.
--- p.178

I was so caught up in my worries that I couldn't express my true self.
I could see that cancer was not a punishment or anything like that.
Cancer was just my own energy.
My energy was not expressed in its natural, majestic power because of fear, so it manifested as cancer.
In that vast state of despair, I realized how harshly I had treated and judged myself my entire life.
There was no one to punish me.
I finally understood that it was not anyone else I could not forgive, but myself.
The person who judged me, the person I abandoned, the person I didn't love enough was none other than 'me'.
--- p.222

The reason I finally got better was because I allowed my true soul to shine from within.
(……) I was healed not because I replaced my destructive thoughts with other thoughts, but because those thoughts simply disappeared completely.
I was not in a state of thinking, but in a state of being.
It was pure consciousness.
This is what I call majesty! This state of Oneness transcends duality.
I was able to connect with my true self.
With a part of me that is eternal, infinite, and all-encompassing.
This is completely different from the idea that mind is superior to matter.
--- p.223

I am at my strongest when I allow life to simply be what it wants me to be.
Just as in the case of cancer, it was only when I stopped all conscious actions on my part and handed everything over to the power of life that I was finally cured.
In other words, I am the strongest when I move 'with' life, not when I 'resist' life.
--- p.227

Most of us still believe that we have to work hard to be loved, which means we still live in duality.
I believe that there are people who give love and people who receive love.
We can transcend this duality when we realize that we are love.
It is understanding that there is no separation between you and me.
Also, if I know that I am in love, the other person will also know that I am in love.
--- p.228

You don't have to wait until you die to experience Nirvana.
Our true grandeur exists right now, in this very moment! (……) If all time and experience exists right now, and we are simply passing through this physical world, expressing our grandeur, then we have nothing to fear.
There is no need to live in fear of what lies ahead.
We can recognize the energy we are already a part of and 'be love' in each and every aspect of our lives.
(……) There is no external creation separate from me.
Because the word external itself indicates separation and duality.
When we live with this in mind, we can continue to engage with the physical world with strength, love, and courage.
--- p.237

To see whether my actions come from 'doing' or 'being,' I simply need to observe what emotions follow my daily decisions.
Are my decisions motivated by fear or passion? If every action I take every day stems from a passion for life, then I exist.
But if my actions are a result of fear, then I am in a state of 'acting'.
--- p.243

Heaven is not a place, it is a state.
(……) It makes no difference whether I am here or in another world.
Everything is just a different part of what our larger, expanded, infinite, and majestic Self experiences.
Our true home is within each of us, and it is with us wherever we go.
--- p.271

If I were to ask you to create a set of principles for your spiritual path to healing, the first one I would choose would definitely be to laugh as much as possible every day.
It would be even better if you could make yourself smile.
This takes precedence over any form of prayer, meditation, hymns, or dietary changes.
When viewed through the eyes of humor and love, no problem in life will ever seem so serious.
(……) Our life is our prayer.
Our life is our gift to this universe.
And when we leave this world one day, the memories we leave behind will be our legacy to those we love.
Living happily and spreading that joy around us is a debt we owe to ourselves and to everyone around us.
--- p.305

I was grateful to know that Wayne Dyer was doing well, having crossed over to the other side and continuing his journey.
My near-death experience taught me that we continue to exist after we die, surrounded by loved ones in a place of unconditional love, so while it was sad that Wayne's body was no longer with me, I knew he was very well.
(……) I also knew that it was divine intervention that Wayne had appeared in my life and led me to this next step.
--- p.309

Self-love is the most amazing state of being and the greatest gift you can give yourself.
You will feel lighter and much clearer, and your anxiety, fear, and stress will feel reduced or completely gone.
Self-love fosters trust in the universe and in your body's ability to heal and grow.
--- p.337

Reviews from domestic and international readers

After reading this book, your thoughts on life and death will completely change.

Anita Murjani.
After a battle with cancer, he came back from the brink of death.
An Indian woman born in Singapore and raised in Hong Kong.
He was brought to the hospital in a coma after battling lymphoma for four years.
Having a near-death experience while in a coma, and knowing that upon returning to the body, one will fully recover from the illness.
After five days, the patient's condition improved and he was moved from the intensive care unit to a general ward.
Discharged after 5 weeks of hospitalization as cancer cells were found to have completely disappeared.

The first part of this book, which consists of three parts, begins with Anita's own story of life before she was diagnosed with cancer.
She tells the story of her childhood in Hong Kong, a diverse environment where cultures meet, her youth when she was forced to live the life of a submissive woman rather than an independent one, and the deaths of those close to her from cancer. She calmly tells the story of how the fear she had unconsciously nurtured deep inside her came to be expressed in the form of cancer.

Part 2 details the near-death experience itself, what I experienced and learned during the experience, the rapid recovery process after the experience, and my meeting with Wayne Dyer, who wrote the foreword to this book, and the various synchronistic events that occurred during that process.
Each story is truly amazing, fascinating, and exciting, from near-death experiences and healing from cancer to living a new life with new eyes.

Part 3 explains in an easy and comfortable way the new and surprising truths that I learned through my near-death experience, such as what causes diseases like cancer and what true healing is, how our beliefs and faith limit us, how we can express our inner magnificence and live in the world as our true selves, and why we live in this world in a body.
Finally, it addresses many people's questions in an easy-to-understand question-and-answer format, including near-death experiences and cancer healing, as well as social issues, physical issues such as time and space, moral issues such as good and evil, justice and injustice, and human aspirations such as happiness and success.

In the revised edition, published to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the book's publication, the author spends about 40 pages after the original content talking about the events that occurred in and around him in the 10 years since the book was first published, and their meaning.
From the story of how her life changed from an unknown person to an influential author and speaker who heals hearts around the world (she has been selected as one of the '100 Most Influential Spiritual People in the World' by the prestigious British journal 'Watkins Journal' for eight consecutive years), she shares the story of the death of Wayne Dyer, which brought her to the world stage, and the many synchronicities she experienced at the time.

“I expanded and became one with everything, and I knew that heaven was not a ‘place’ but a ‘state.’”

“As I delved deeper into the other world and expanded outward, I became everything and everyone.
It didn't feel like I had 'physically' gone anywhere else.
It would be more accurate to say that I 'woke up'.
My soul expanded beyond this space and time into another realm and at the same time included it.
Love, joy, ecstasy, and awe poured into me, and I was lost in it.
I felt freer and more alive than ever before.
And I suddenly 'knew' things that were physically impossible." (From Chapter 7, 'Going to the Other Side of the World', in this book)

Anita said that in her near-death state, she had a perfect 360-degree field of vision and that time was not linear, but felt like past, present, and future were all happening at the same time.
Again, if you give consciousness to either side, everything related to it will appear right before your eyes.
I felt connected to everything, or rather, one with everything, not separate from it.
I realized that heaven is not a concept of a 'place' but a 'state of being', and I knew that I was in that 'state' right now.

In her near-death state, Anita encounters the essence of her deceased father and also encounters the essence of her close friend who died first from cancer.
“My conversation with my father was not verbal, but we became completely one and understood each other.
“It was not just ‘understanding’ what my father said, it was like I was ‘becoming’ him,” says Anita (from Chapter 8, ‘Something Infinite and Fantastic’).
There was no sign of her father, who treated Anita as if she were a social misfit, as she resisted the submissive life of an Indian woman.
The values they held while alive were no longer a problem after death, and only unconditional love filled their relationship.

Anita uses the metaphor of a large tapestry made up of colorful threads to illustrate how everyone is connected.
Each of us is a thread weaving a great tapestry, a facet of the same whole.
Therefore, for the whole picture to be complete, every person and every thing is necessary, without exception? Good or bad, useful or useless? Everyone is essential.
Anita says that this realization was more important than any other miraculous experience she had during her near-death experience.

As Anita realized how magnificent she truly was and felt her connectedness to the whole, she realized with certainty that the body was merely a reflection of her inner state, and that if she chose to return to life, her body would soon be healed in days, not weeks or months.
At the last moment, given the choice of continuing her journey to death or returning to her body, Anita chooses to return to her body.
Because at that moment, I felt like there was still a purpose that had not been fully achieved.
The work involved helping a lot of people.
He soon realized that he would be used as a "tool of healing for others." (From Chapter 14, "Healing is a Beginning, Not an End")

“Now I live with joy, not fear.
“This is the stark difference between before and after a near-death experience.”

During her near-death experience, Anita experienced an expansion of consciousness and immediately realized why she had cancer.
It was because he didn't love himself and was afraid to tell his truth.
And that fear and lack of self-love soon manifested itself in the form of a physical illness called cancer.
But I could see that “cancer is not a punishment or anything like that.
Cancer was just my own energy.
“My energy, unable to express itself in its full, majestic power because of fear, manifested itself as cancer.” (From Chapter 15, “Why I Got Cancer and Got Well”)

Anita experienced on a soul level that as long as she sought love and acceptance outside herself, and pursued happiness, it could never be fulfilled.
When what empowers us comes from outside ourselves, life is bound to be filled with fear.
Because my health, my success, and my happiness are all determined by someone outside of me.
Anita realizes through her near-death experience that when we seek something outside ourselves, it is because we believe we are separate from it.
“In the past, I used to ‘pursue’ things, feeling like I had to do something, get something, and achieve something.
But the very act of pursuing something was born from fear.
We are afraid that we won't get what we want.
So we end up trapped in duality.
“This is because, from the beginning, the focus is on the ‘separation’ between the pursuer and the object of pursuit.” (From Chapter 17, ‘A Life of Acceptance’)

Anita discovers that we are inseparable from our center, so we lack nothing.
When we know that everything is already within us, we no longer fear not having what we want.
They do not seek love, acceptance, or happiness outside of themselves.
“I no longer pursue anything.
It's just 'allowed'.
If I try hard to pursue what I want, I will only strengthen the separation.
“In contrast, ‘allowing’ means knowing that we are all one, that everything is connected, and therefore that what I desire is already within me.” (From Chapter 17, ‘The Allowing Life’)

Anita says that all we have to do to become our true selves is to love ourselves.
What Anita learned through cancer was to love herself.
The more you value and love yourself, the stronger your immune system becomes and the less likely you are to develop cancer.
Loving yourself means examining your emotions and living truthfully with them, following your passions and living fearlessly, and above all, enjoying life.
Rather than thinking, "How can I do this?" or "How can I achieve that?", ask yourself, "How would I feel if I made this choice?" or "How am I feeling right now?" and choose something that gives you a positive "feeling."

Anita further states that loving oneself means loving others and healing the Earth.
“Because we are all connected, if one person is happy, that happiness cannot help but reach others, uplifting them and helping them to recover.
“When we heal others, we also heal ourselves and this planet.” (Chapter 13, “Finding My Path”)

Wayne Dyer says that the reason he happened to read Anita's short memoir, that he encouraged her to write a book, and that we are reading this book now, is all related to Anita's choice to return to her body.
That's because, as Anita said, we are all connected.

“Anita, who had been on the brink of death due to cancer, eventually had the experience of going far beyond that threshold and the front door and entering deep into the house of death.
And that experience is described in great detail in this book.
I encourage you to read this book with an open mind.
You will likely experience a profound shake-up of many of your beliefs, especially about what lies beyond this world. …” —Wayne Dyer (spiritualist, New York Times bestselling author)
