PRISMOf (Quarterly): Fall [2024]
Description
Book Introduction
Prism of is a quarterly film magazine that contains various perspectives on a single film in each issue.
It is a compound word of Prism and Of, and it means containing the prism of movies and the prism of people who watch movies.
We aim to create a magazine with collection value by re-examining works from various angles to expand the audience's cinematic experience.
Prism of No. 32 "Everything Everywhere All at Once"
As the title suggests, “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once” is a film that captures “everything” and “everywhere” “all at once.”
A present life made up of past choices, dreams that might have been achieved, love and hate, fights and reconciliation, laughter and tears?
The reason a film made with a small budget could achieve global success is because 'everything' moved audiences 'everywhere' 'at once.'
Prism of Issue 32, “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” begins with the keywords of mother-daughter relationships, quantum mechanics, and the countless possibilities of life.
And then, based on the ‘relationships’ surrounding the main character Evelyn, I explored the directing method of the work and the thoughts and philosophy revealed through it.
"Everything Everywhere All at Once" contains so many diverse elements that its 139-minute running time seems insufficient.
To explore every corner of that boundless universe, I turned my eyes to media, discourses, and even people outside of film.
With Prism of No. 32, I believe you will be able to savor “everything” of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” “all at once” “everywhere.”
