The cutest and warmest picture book of this winter
"A Snowman is a Snowman" is a painting that covers pure white Korean paper like a blanket of snow.

A picture book that is purer and more sparkling than clean, white snow has been published.
Artist Gom Min-jeong, who debuted in the visual arts creative community Artists Community (AC) and published her first picture book, “A Snowman is a Snowman,” through our school’s picture book brand, Green Tangerine, has depicted the first meeting between a snowman and a small child with a pure and affectionate gaze.

"A Snowman is a Snowman," which is drawn with watercolors on Korean paper and colored pencils to add detail, is a book that allows you to fully feel the warm heart of artist Gom Min-jeong, who has been creating her own cozy space through independent publications and illustration work.
Author Gom Min-jeong, who wanted to tell children who were saddened by the melting snowman a cute story about a snowman that did not melt, recalled the memories of meeting her loved ones and left her first footprints on a sheet of pure white Korean paper.

When you open the cover, which features a snowman leaving a greeting in a quiet snowy field, you see a picture of a child and a puppy approaching the snowman in the distance.
As you feel the crunching sound of snow underfoot, you will soon find yourself in front of a snowman, and the snowman will say exciting words to the child, the dog, and the readers across the snowy field.
“Would you like to hear my story?” At this moment, we enter the innocent world shown by the little snowman.

The snowman calls you, me, and our names

The snowman begins to tell the child a story that sounds like a pun.
“Bungeoppang is bread, a crocodile is a bird, and a duck boat is a boat.
“Rainbow rice cake is delicious!” The child and the puppy follow the snowman’s various names as if they were on a journey.
After smelling the fluffy fish-shaped bread, seeing a crocodile with its mouth wide open, crossing a lake on a duck boat, stepping on mud, and eating sweet, rainbow-colored rice cakes, the snowman poses a riddle to you, asking you to guess who he is, and then gives you the answer.


“I am… a snowman.”

The snowman introduces himself to the child as a 'person'.
More than half of the book's content is made up of riddles posed by snowmen.
Perhaps the snowman wanted to become an equal friend to the child and talk to him.
The child is delighted to hear the snowman finally reveal his name and identity and tells him who he is.
Because it brought back memories of someone calling my name and touching me.
