What's going on in the house?
Description
Book Introduction
- A word from MD
- 2021 Bologna Illustrator Award Winner.
Ouch! There's a wolf in the house! But appearances aren't everything.
When you turn the page, a twist beyond imagination awaits you.
An interesting picture book where you can imagine a scene by looking at an actual open window, and when you open the door, you can encounter a twist that breaks your prejudice by approaching the story differently from what you know - MD for children, Hyunju Kim
“Eww! There’s a wolf in the house.”
Appearances aren't everything!
Through the window I see a wolf with sharp teeth and piercing eyes.
Even his tongue is licking.
Could it be that Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood were eaten?
But turn the cover and you'll see a wolf sitting on a sofa reading a Little Red Riding Hood storybook.
It's a warm room with water bubbling on the stove.
Sharp-eyed readers will even spot a picture of the Three Little Pigs and their grandmother hanging on the wall.
What you appear to others on the outside and what you actually are on the inside can be different.
This book shows how the inside and outside of a home look different through windows, delivering the message that what you see isn't everything in an easy and fun way.
Rather than delivering a one-sided message, it encourages viewers to guess and imagine what's happening inside the house by looking at a part of the scenery outside the window.

Publisher's Review
The fun of a twist seen through a broken window
《What's Happening at Home?》 has a window with bars on it from the cover all the way to the inside of the text.
It actually adds to the fun of seeing through the open window.
This book also contains many scenes from old stories that we are familiar with.
Little Red Riding Hood, the Seven Little Goats, and the Three Little Pigs.
It breaks the stereotype that people generally think of, like the wolf who ate Little Red Riding Hood, but turns out to be a wolf who loves warm tea and books.
In addition to the fun of seeing the inside and outside reversals, it can be an opportunity to break the mold of thinking by approaching the story you originally knew differently.
First published in the world,
2021 Bologna Illustrator Award Winner!
