Amazing Real Origami 4
Amazing Real Origami 4
Description
Book Introduction
The theme of this book is 'Creatures that Swim Underwater', and like previous works, it contains a variety of works ranging from easy to difficult.
Animals rarely seen in existing origami books are included, adding even more interest and novelty. We have also taken care to include photos for parts that require detailed explanation or may be difficult to understand, making it easier for creators to understand and work with.

Also, as with previous works, the terminology and notation were carefully reviewed by domestic experts to adapt them to the domestic situation, and the reviewer personally created each piece to increase readers' understanding.

Unlike ordinary crafts that pass like a fad, origami is actually a field close to mathematics or science, so its fan base is growing thicker and its age group is gradually expanding to include college students.
However, there is a severe shortage of books that are suitable for their level.
Therefore, the 'Amazing Real Origami' series is a much-needed book for readers who have been waiting for books of various difficulty levels.

Into the book
『Amazing Real Origami 4: Aquatic Creatures』 is now available at the request of our readers.
I am deeply grateful that the three volumes of the previously published Amazing Real Origami series have received a response that exceeded my expectations, and I am once again reminded of the great interest many people have in real origami.
This book is comprised of a wide range of works, from relatively simple to highly difficult, about creatures related to water, namely the 'sea and rivers'.
This series follows the previously published 『Amazing Real Origami 2: Flying Creatures』 and 『Amazing Real Origami 3: Walking Creatures』.
Real origami is a creative origami that folds animals, dinosaurs, insects, etc. to resemble their real appearance as closely as possible.
Although it may seem difficult at first, each piece has a 'basic folding' stage, and once you get past that, you can gradually move on to more realistic and complex forms.
Although the basic folding process itself is long, it is not that difficult, so anyone from children to the elderly can fold it after trying it a few times.
- From the preface

The moment I was asked to review the manuscript for the long-awaited 『Amazing Real Origami 4: Aquatic Creatures』, I was excited to see the readers' reactions.
Most origami books in bookstores feature animals, dinosaurs, insects, and other living creatures, but it is difficult to find a book that only features creatures living in rivers or the sea.
(…)
After folding all the works in this book, I was able to gain a better understanding of the world the author pursues, and I could see how much effort the author put into making origami more accessible to those who enjoy it.
The editor is well aware of the amount of sweat and time required to create a single work, and so he expresses his gratitude to the author for allowing him to encounter such wonderful works.
I also encourage many origami readers to enjoy the vivid creations in this book and immerse themselves once again in the wondrous world of creating with a single sheet of paper.

Publisher's Review
The more you read, the more you get into it!
Amidst inquiries and popularity from origami enthusiasts,
The fourth volume of the "Amazing Real Origami" series (Creatures that Swim Underwater) is finally out!

The fourth volume of the "Amazing Real Origami" series, which has been consistently loved by origami enthusiasts in Japan and Korea, has finally been published.
Since the first book, "Amazing Real Origami," was introduced in Korea in 2014, there has been a steady stream of inquiries and requests from readers for follow-up books, so the publication of this new book will be welcome news to origami enthusiasts.

There are a total of four volumes in the 『Amazing Real Origami』 series published in Korea so far.

A treasure trove of creativity recognized worldwide
Origami is used in various creative fields such as mathematics, science, medicine, and design.
Fun play and art combine to develop the brain and enhance creativity.

It is not a new phenomenon that origami has been playing a prominent role in the fields of science and medicine.
Now, origami is expanding its scope of roles in more diverse fields.
In China, there was a high school student who became a hot topic by using mathematics to create his own unique origami and getting into college just by doing origami (in Korea, too, there is a growing number of enthusiasts who use mathematics to create their own drawings and create their own artwork).
Stanford University also developed the Foldscope, a $1 microscope for countries that lack access to scientific equipment.
The Foldscope is a microscope made using origami that allows anyone to easily identify malaria bacteria.
It is said that it is possible to do this with just a paper frame the size of A4 paper, glue, a switch, a battery, and an LED.
Origami is not only used in these specialized fields.
The Samsung Aptitude Test (GSAT) includes development diagrams and origami questions every year to assess spatial perception (visual thinking) skills.
In that sense, origami goes beyond the simple stage of crafting.

The "Amazing Real Origami" series will play a big role in raising awareness of the importance of origami.
But above all, this series will provide 'amazing' enjoyment to those who enjoy origami in terms of the variety of difficulty levels and high level of completion.
