Description
Book Introduction
The 'Beautiful Sentences of Korea' series is comprised of classic works that are a great legacy of Korean literature.
The book was planned to preserve the aesthetic value of the book by keeping the cover of the original first edition intact and to be readable again in modern times.
The first in the series is Sangheo Lee Taejun's "Museorok," which is considered to be the pinnacle of modern essays.
Lee Tae-jun, known as a strict writer, is widely read for his prose, which is considered to be the best of its time and has been elevated to the level of art to this day.
'Museorok' is a work that humbly compiles his own writings, meaning 'writing without any order'.
It can also be interpreted to mean that it is not a fabricated piece of writing.
『Museorok』 captures the beauty of a simple life and the depth of thought through honest sentences.

Into the book
The parsley is a beautiful plant no matter when you see it.
Even under the scorching heat, its blue and refreshing shade washes the eyes cooler than water, and on rainy days, when other plants are gloomy as if they are swallowing their mouths, only the plantain gently shakes off the raindrops and lies inside the bead curtain, but it still sprinkles rain on the hearts of those who listen.
The coolness of rain falling on your chest but not getting your clothes wet, the waiting for this rain that nurtures the grass will be here.
--- From "Pacho"
I want to write 冊 as 冊 rather than 'book'.
‘冊’ is more beautiful and more book-like than ‘book’.
A book is something you read, something you look at, something you caress. A book is something that can be done in any way.
If a book is only meant to be read, then that is a very harsh and primitive assessment of the book.
This is no longer the age where clothing and housing are solely for keeping warm.
If this is already true for the body, how much more so for the book, the clothing and home of the emotions, the spirit, and the thoughts! The book is most beautiful, for among all man-made cultural objects you are the flower, the angel, and also the king.
--- From "Book"
'Goldong (骨董)' is a Chinese word, and it is also called 'Godong (古董)', which is actually a phonetic transcription of 'Godong (古銅)'.
The bad habit of randomly dragging in other characters to match the pronunciation and thinking, ‘what leads to what’, has spread to this ‘old copper’ as well.
The character '고(古)' is a lingering and profound character that even someone like Chusa enjoyed using, whereas the character '골(骨)' is a grim, deathly character, like something you might find in a crematorium! You probably don't know how much their vitality is being sapped because ancient artifacts are called '고동(古)' or '골(古)'.
Words are public property and cannot be changed arbitrarily, but I would like to use the word 'high-quality product' instead of 'antique' whenever possible.
