Anyway, continue
Anyway, continue
Description
Book Introduction
Anyway, the seventh story in the series: I 'continue' today too.

The seventh book in the 'The World That Made Me, The World I Made' series is 'Anyway, To Be Continued'.
The world changes rapidly, and if you're not an early adopter, you might feel a sense of impatience, like you'll be left behind. But don't we all cling to something in our lives that continues to endure? "Anyway, Keep Going" is the story of someone who "keeps" something going.
The author, a former reporter for Film 2.0 and currently a TV columnist, wishes that every moment would last a little longer, rather than finding happiness in growth, change, and development.
So, when someone runs for a long time and looks back, I hope that the person who is always there, like the acacia flowers on the orchard road outside Donggu, is me.
When spring comes, he always watches the movie [April Story], the Playmobil he played with as a child still sits by his bedside, and his story of collecting clothes to last a lifetime begins.

The only way given to me

Into the book
The biggest reason why swimming has become a part of our daily routine is because the diverse group of people who gather at the same time and place create a unique yet everyday scene, like in Japanese films.
Even though we don't know each other's generations, genders, occupations, or even names, the warmth we feel from casually greeting each other and exchanging stories about swimming or the weather, the presence of neighbors who can provide that warmth gives us a strange sense of comfort, as if we are living peacefully today.
A suitable sense of distance and warmth coexist, and within that, today, not much different from yesterday, repeats itself.
The swimming pool is the ultimate living and breathing space, a place where this moderation is exquisitely balanced.

---From "Swimming"

Everyone has their own concept of living, but in my case, it's 'a hotel room I checked into.'
I try to make sure that when I return home after work, it feels like a hotel room I checked into, with no trace of life.
It is a kind of spatial psychology to maintain a pleasant sense of refreshment in the daily routine.
So, whether it's cooking or taking a shower, I have a detailed routine of cleaning up and putting things away right after I use them, so I always maintain a neat and tidy appearance like I just entered a hotel room.
The key here is to not procrastinate and to take the time to tidy up when you leave the house.
That's why the routine is most tightly laid out during the busy morning hours of preparing for work.
---From "Checked In Hotel Room"

Some might find it creepy, backward-looking, or just plain bad taste.
But, like the lyrics of the song “I will always love and live with all the people and moments I have loved” from the Shareholders Club, rather than covering up the past or occasionally taking out photos and reminiscing, I want to feel and confirm the emotions I felt yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
So, watching [April Story] is like a link connecting my past self, present self, and future self.
Of course, there is absolutely no problem if we don't necessarily live connected, but I don't want to bury the precious moments and memories I felt in a corner of my brain with excuses like, "I've been trying to make a living..." or words like, "How old are you?"
We must be very careful because emotions that can only be felt at that moment and at that time evaporate so easily.
---From "April Story"

If you live by the motto of “today is like yesterday, tomorrow is like today,” you must first be at peace with yourself, not those around you.
If you want to have a day that is always the same, unchanging, you have to learn to hide yourself and not reveal yourself like a ninja.
The inertia and constancy of daily life are attractive because they are a tranquility that comes with living without incident.
A presence so faint that it is almost invisible can be said to be the ultimate constant in everyday life.
It's not something to be taken lightly.
Ninja-ness is the ultimate secret to maintaining homeostasis.

Publisher's Review
“If time is like a moving walkway that moves even when you are still,
“I won’t walk on it to go faster.”

As a child, I first felt a vague sense of being left behind, seeing my friends one by one become absorbed in Nintendo or PC games instead of toys or baseball.
The toys I used to play with with my friends were removed from the living room, and the playground we used to play in together was taken over by children I had never seen before.
I'm not unaware of the existence of the trajectory called 'growth,' but the expression 'maturing' or the timetable set according to age just didn't feel right.

It's not a bad thing to reminisce about the past by listening to "What and What Chart of Memories" on the radio, but if possible, I wanted to live without any vague feelings and embrace all of the time.
So, I thought that when someone looks back after running for a long time, I would be the one who is always there, like the acacia flowers on the orchard road outside the Donggu.
If time is like a moving walkway that moves even when you stand still, then I don't want to walk faster on it.
So, roughly, this is how I ended up living.

“Today is like yesterday, tomorrow is like today”

If someone asks me what I do after work, I tell them that I do my best to maintain the consistency of my daily life.
Swimming at 9:30 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the 20-minute rule after work, weekly cleaning, seasonal schedules... I began to dream of a life that was the same every year, every month, every day, just like the seasons that came and went.
Instead of looking back every now and then and feeling lost, I just had to stay where I was.
So I live a life where the same thing repeats itself every day.
It is the only way given to me to face the flow of time.
There are no people around me, but there must be someone somewhere who is trying to face and capture the passing time in their own way.
?

“I hope this moment will always be the happiest moment…”

Of course, no matter what you do, time cannot be stopped.
But as summer approaches, I want to feel the same emotions I felt last summer, and I hope that the stories associated with that hot wind will repeat themselves again.
As time goes by, I hope my parents will always remain in my mind as healthy figures, and I hope they will never forget the many happy moments they have experienced in their lives.
So I tried to hold on to time as much as possible and looked for things that could slow it down as much as possible.

Before writing this piece about the many "continues" that go on in my life, I had never really thought about what my daily life looked like.
I just kept living like that.
Maybe I just wanted to hold on to the happiness I had enjoyed.
So this book is about a person who tries to stay in the same place for the rest of his life.
I hope this moment will always be the happiest moment… .
I hope this article provides you with an opportunity to reflect on your daily life or face the past.

'The world that made me, the world that I made' Anyway, 00

'Is there one thing that makes you happy, that makes you excited, that gives you refuge just by thinking about it?' Anyway, the series started with this question.
These individuals, who have written uniquely while working in various fields such as poets, activists, carpenters, pharmacists, and illustrators, have put the worlds they have built into their books.
Based on the intersection of 'the world that made me, the world I created', various topics such as fitness, study, Mangwon-dong, shopping, guesthouse, thriller, sweaters, and inertia are skillfully woven into one volume, adding to the fun of reading by choosing a topic that you like.
It is made in a small size with a short length, providing an experience of accompanying that world without any burden.
In particular, this series is the first experiment and delightful collaboration between three publishers: Hugo, Jecheolso, and Conan Books, to create a single series.
A colorful publisher, unique authors, and engaging topics combine to broaden the horizons of essay writing and provide readers with a restful reading experience.
