The author, Professor Emeritus of Yonsei University, is a journalism scholar who has long studied and taught about media and communication phenomena. Having finished the first act of his life as a teacher, he is now living the second act of his life as a daily walker, a prayer, and a writer.
He began writing poetry and prose in his spare time following the Sewol Ferry disaster in 2014 and the sudden death of his wife the following year.
Diagnosed with advanced cancer in 2024, he is currently battling the disease and believes that writing is a powerful healing force.
