Wasn't two small bookstores enough? I brought in an old English linen wardrobe and created a third, smaller bookstore.
After putting up the veranda and fixing a bench, it became a cozy space.
We called the third bookstore 'Snug' and painted all three in very bright colors.
When spring comes, the bright colors of the bookstore, including red, yellow, blue, orange, and green, blend with the flowers in the garden to create a fairytale-like atmosphere.
These beautiful 'small bookstores' are more than just places that sell books.
It is a comfortable shelter, a safe haven, and a place to share friendship, laugh and cry.

I started the story with Richard Bach's "Jonathan Livingston Livingston" (...). "The hardest thing is to make a bird believe he is free," Jonathan says to Fletcher in the book.
I was the same way.
The hardest part was getting my friends to think that they could be free.
I truly wanted to believe that I could escape the gang, the abuse, and live the life I wanted.

Even children who have difficulty reading out loud will happily read to themselves when Tui is by their side.
Tui just sits quietly and listens without pointing out whether you are reading correctly or making any mistakes.
Children naturally develop self-confidence.
Because Tui is so carefree, you can often see him lying down leisurely next to children reading books.
Of course, when I get bored, I stretch my legs out over the book.
Having a toy like this around makes reading more enjoyable for children.
This must be said to be a positive effect of the 'Reading to Dogs' program.

Louis' wife, Pat, passed away from cancer nine years ago.
Louis says he would never have made it through the years without Tala.
While Pat was diagnosed with cancer and was battling the disease, Tala spent a lot of time by his side.
I slept next to Pat.
Sadly, Pat passed away just five months before their 50th wedding anniversary.
Louis and Tala now eat together and go for walks together.
We sit side by side, watch TV, and fall asleep together.
Louis has diabetes.
When Louis' blood sugar drops, Tala, strangely enough, notices.
In fact, there were several times when Tala had to tap Louis on the shoulder to wake him up and make him eat something or check his blood sugar.

Because of the coach, I was able to stay sane and not break down.
No matter how exhausting the day was, I always went out for a walk.
We talked nonstop and would often fall asleep on the floor with Hunza hugging us tightly.
(...) After about a year, we rented a small vacation home.
This is the official office of Fiordland Eco-Resort.
It's also where my first bookstore, 45 South and Below, started.
I opened my first bookstore with less than 100 books.
Thus, Hoonja became the first bookseller dog.
