Greenie's bumbling friends-making adventure at school!
When Greenie concentrates on something, he drools without realizing it.
Every time that happens, my partner Haeyoon shouts, “Hey, it’s dirty!” and sits far away.
Even Minje, who was usually close with Greenie, didn't go near Greenie when he was drooling.
At times like that, Greenie feels like he's alone in an empty classroom.
When you see Green sitting alone in the middle of a vast desert, you can feel the magnitude of his loneliness.
The more difficult it becomes for Green to have relationships with his school friends, the more he misses Taekyung and Soyeon, who were called the 'Songwon Kindergarten Three Musketeers'.
Greenie's anxiety and difficulties are likely the same feelings that all children experience when they first enter school, have to adjust to an unfamiliar environment, and make friends.

Mom throws a kindergarten reunion for Greenie.
On the day of the class reunion, Greenie is in a good mood all day long, and even though Haeyoon says it's dirty, he just laughs it off, and he enjoys jumping rope, taekwondo, and piano practice.
The first kindergarten reunion is finally here! Greenie meets up with the friends he's formed during his kindergarten days. He runs around, plays, and eats delicious snacks, spending time at the playground until it gets dark.
But that day, I heard a surprising story from Soyeon.
Did Greenie hate Soyeon at first? And that was because she was ugly! I thought it was ridiculous, but then I remembered that Soyeon also teased Greenie for drooling.
Just like my partner Haeyoon.
Now, we are the best of friends in the world, but at first, we hated and teased each other because of each other's appearance and habits.
Thanks to that, Greenie was reminded of his school friends Haeyoon and Minwoo.
And with the mindset that 'everyone starts like that', I gather my courage and approach my school friends.

Author Kim Young-jin has meticulously and lovingly depicted the lives and emotions of families through numerous picture books, and has especially realistically portrayed the stories of our children with a cheerful and warm perspective.
"Making Friends" is a story about Green, the main character who has grown up and become an elementary school student, entering elementary school and making new friends.
For children, becoming an elementary school student is truly a huge undertaking.
This is because a child who has been solving everything in the arms of his mother and father will now have to create relationships with other people on his own.
Relationships are not something you build alone, but something you build together.
But since all my friends are new to this and are clumsy, the process is not easy.

In "Making Friends," author Kim Young-jin tells the story in a somewhat unique way to show that understanding and being considerate of others is paramount in relationships.
Unlike most picture books that follow the actions and emotions of the main character, we boldly introduced the cartoon format into the picture book, allowing readers to see not only the main character's emotions but also those of the surrounding characters.

Greenie and her friends in the cartoon-like "Making Friends" are just like the innocent eight-year-olds we can easily see around us.
The moment children open the book, they become Greenie, Taekyung, or Soyeon and find their own story, crying and laughing to their heart's content.
