The person left with five jobs
The person left with five jobs
Description
Book Introduction
A story of someone who has worked in five completely different fields.

Broadcast writer, shoe repairman, pharmaceutical salesperson, content planner, interior design manager.
There are people who have experienced all five of these seemingly unconnected careers.
For 12 years, he worked tirelessly on the things he wanted to do.
Where did he end up?
What kind of person did I become, what did I think, and what did I do now?
This book covers not only the information and fun he has accumulated about his career, but also his growth.
This is a book that I would highly recommend to young people who are concerned about their career path and aptitude.

How to Never Get Lost Again 310

Into the book
'How can I live my whole life doing something this boring?'
Perhaps because of the job-hunting season approaching next year, this thought has been growing stronger since the second semester of my third year.
Although I felt lost, I was also grateful that I could think like this.
Because I'm not in a situation where I have to pay off a large debt or pay for the medical expenses of a family member who is hospitalized due to illness.
For someone in that situation, it would be a worry they wouldn't dare to think about.
The gravity of the matter may be relative, but that concern was extremely important to me.
Up until now, I've lived without much thought, following the established guidelines, and the results of my efforts have been reflected in my grades.
There was no specific part I had to take responsibility for, and the next step was already decided, so there was no need to worry too much.
But after graduating from college, the outcome depended entirely on my decisions, and all responsibility was my own.
So I was more concerned.

--- p.19

While I was approaching my thirties and considering a second career, my friends were also approaching their thirties and considering wedding halls and new homes.
It seemed like a sign that I was getting a job right after graduating from college, settling down and preparing for the second act of my life.
Until my college days, I felt like I lived in the same world as them, but now I feel like I'm living a completely different life.
Like the ending scene in the movie [Fast & Furious 7] where the main characters Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Connor are driving on the same road in their own cars and then part ways at a fork in the road.
A mixture of envy and bitterness.
More than the fact that I was married, I was envious of the fact that I could envision the future with a little more leisure in a stable life.
My already flustered mind became more complicated.

--- p.81

“Senior, I’m quitting.”
The main writer's eyes widened.
It was surprising because there was no hint of it at all.
He asked what was going on, if something was wrong at home, and if he was being transferred to another program.
He looked even more surprised when I told him that I was quitting my job as a writer and trying something else.
I didn't go into detail about my true feelings, but simply said that I wanted to try other jobs before I turned 30. The main writer gave me a surprising answer.

“I’m so jealous of him…”
He said that he had several opportunities to become a main writer, and although he hesitated each time, he eventually decided to become a writer.
He cheered me on with envious eyes, saying that I was doing something he couldn't do.

--- p.92

I realized then that simply expressing gratitude to the other person could return that gratitude to me in return.
It feels good just to express your feelings to someone, but what could be more satisfying than having that person fully understand those feelings?

--- p.194

How can we improve the abilities of those we work with?
Will I naturally acquire this skill as I continue to manage and supervise others after becoming a team leader? Or will I still suffer because of my team members? I'm not sure yet.
Maybe my standards and yardsticks are so high that I won't know until the day I die.
Even if I have to stubbornly stick to my standards, I want to work at a level that I am not ashamed of.
The only person who is evaluated by the standards and yardsticks I have set should be myself.
It should not be directed at colleagues or seniors or juniors.
Even if it's a little stressful.

--- p.245

If you look at it one by one like this, there is not a single useless experience.
I've been trying to recall my vague memories to write about this for about half a year.
Looking at photos or document files stored in the cloud, I sometimes reminisce and recall terrible nightmares.
I found the greatest comfort in the process of collecting sporadically occurring episodes in my head and organizing them into writing.
Above all, I gained the courage to live with confidence in myself going forward.
Thanks to that, things that felt right then but wrong now feel right then and now.

Publisher's Review
A professional who has had five careers

A man who has had five jobs, five jobs that seem unrelated or unrelated, wants to tell his story.
One cannot help but wonder what it might be about.
Detailed information about a particular profession? What motivated you to choose it? The incidents and events you encountered during your career? If you only include one or two of these, it may seem boring, familiar, or merely superficial.
This book is interesting because it conveys all of this together.
It is even more beneficial for those who have chosen a career and have an interest in a particular profession.
As I read about the detailed job information, how to deal with unexpected situations, and attitudes toward life direction that only someone who has experienced it can tell, and trace the reasons why they left for their next job, I soon realize that I am the same person who has changed jobs so many times.
Sometimes I sympathize, sometimes I envy, but on the other hand, it's similar to how I live.
It would also be a good point of reading to think about what kind of talents or personality a person who has run tirelessly for 12 years and jumped between different jobs must have.

It was true then and it's true now

Although I have talked about the profession itself and the writer's attitude toward it, I cannot avoid discussing the issue of choice.
Every moment of life begins with a choice and ends with a responsibility.
Up to this point, it will be similar for everyone.
What fills that process varies greatly from person to person.
The author of this book has started five new careers, most of which have resulted in success.
It's a bit odd when a writer thinks of a new career, because he didn't run away as a failure.
But no matter what career you choose to pursue next, don't worry.
Because the author's attitude towards the job was sincere and truthful, it was a moment of facing himself.
So, even though the author at the time may have been shaken and afraid, he ended up thinking, 'It was right then and it is right now.'

In any era, experiences and relationships through work are everything.

Everyone has concerns about their career path and aptitude.
However, the concerns of young people today seem quite different from before.
Unlike the past, when people believed that simply getting into a good university would solve their career path, uncertainty about the future has grown, and there is also a fear that machines and AI will replace people's jobs.
Writer Kim Sol also has fears about what she can do.
However, through this book, he shows that in any era, experience and growth through work are ultimately the most important things for an individual.
He constantly talks about how work is ultimately about relationships and how important it is to treat people with the right attitude and affection.
