A 2,100% Return on Investment with NVIDIA and Palantir: A Complete Beginner's Journey
Description
Book Introduction
“Stocks are gambling,” said one expert who spent 30 years in the law and real estate fields, where principles and logic reign supreme.
But at age 53, he had a shocking realization that would change the course of his life.
'The center of gravity for asset growth has shifted from real things to innovative technologies.'
This book is a fiercely honest account of how a cynical novice in stock investing achieved a staggering return of over 2,100% in just five years by investing heavily in leading companies of the era, NVIDIA and Palantir.

Into the book
This book chronicles the investment journey of a complete beginner in stock investing, who invested in NVIDIA and Palantir, both of which generated returns of over 2,100% in just five years.
“If you continue investing in stocks, our relationship will end here.”
This was a cynical warning I gave to a friend of 20 years.
I was once a "stock hater" who believed that investing in stocks was a life-ruining gamble.
As a lawyer who has been dealing with real estate and law for 30 years, I am known as a “compensation doctor” and a “redevelopment/reconstruction specialist lawyer.”
He also wrote 15 professional books on real estate, including “Practical Land Expropriation Compensation.”
Having worked in a legal field dominated by 'principles and logic', I felt even more averse to the unpredictable stock market.
Why real estate experts are turning to stocks.
Weight of assets
But ironically, the court's 30 years of experience proving the value of real estate has revealed two crucial limitations to real estate investing.
This realization is the fundamental motivation that started my 53-year-old stock investment career.
However, having spent my entire life dealing with law and real estate, I know better than anyone the importance of 'properly acquiring and protecting assets.'
In particular, we know that many readers, in their quest for financial freedom, face the most fundamental and important goal: housing stability.
While this article focuses on the journey of investing in innovative technology stocks, to prevent the most fatal failures in asset growth, I've included my bitter experience of apartment acquisition, both failure and success, in the "Appendix."
This stems from my earnest hope that readers will grow their seed money through stocks, while avoiding the same "trial and error" I made when it comes to real estate investing.
Because true economic freedom can be achieved when you simultaneously balance both financial and real assets.
First, there was the 'weight' of failure and assets that even experts could not avoid.
Even as a real estate attorney, I have experienced the painful mistake of purchasing ineligible real estate.
In the appendix, I provide a sobering criterion for avoiding ineligible properties and candidly share my own failures.
While real estate can be a foundation for a smart home, the management burden and complex legal risks that arise during the process of accumulating wealth are by no means insignificant.
Second, I witnessed the 'unfree life' of those with assets worth 10 billion won.
Among my clients, there is one who owns a small building worth 10 billion won.
He was constantly plagued by rising taxes, health insurance premiums, lease disputes, and the liquidity constraints of unsold buildings.
The rate of return is only about 3% per year.
On the other hand, customers who held 10 billion won worth of S&P 500 ETF (SPY) enjoyed complete freedom, enjoying annual returns of around 10% without holding taxes or management stress.
I witnessed the harsh reality that real estate no longer guarantees true "freedom," and realized that "light assets that work for me without management costs" are the only answer.
The Call of the Times, the Birth of a Principle
Just as I harbored this inner conviction, the Japanese export restrictions of 2019 and the pandemic of 2020 broke out.
This was a signal that the center of the world was completely reorganizing from 'real assets' to 'innovative technologies'.
In an age of inflation, I decided to prevent my hard-earned money from quietly melting away the moment I turned my back on investing.
"Let's invest in America, the center of the world, and in the world's leading innovative companies that transform people's lives."
I started investing in stocks for the first time in my life at the age of 53, more than halfway through my life.
As a legal professional, I applied the "cool analysis of facts" and "compliance with principles" I acquired to my investments.
By reading the philosophies of giants like Warren Buffett all night, I first built my own psychological firewall called the unshakable "Manmandi" investment philosophy.
Based on this principle, we focused on investing in innovative growth stocks such as NVIDIA and Palantir, which resulted in an astonishing return of over 2,100% in just five years.
This book talks about principles, not luck.
This book is not just a simple 'lucky success story'.
This book contains the honest story of a former stock-phobe who, based on his experiences and reflections as a real estate expert, moved from fear to confidence, and from confidence to enlightenment.
This book focuses on building an "investment psychological firewall" that anyone can achieve, regardless of their occupation or net worth.
Establishing Principles: How I Overcame the Limitations of Real Estate and Established My Own Easy Investment Philosophy
? Shaking and Overcoming: What was the only principle that allowed me to 'hold on ignorantly' through countless crashes?
? Practical Knowledge: This book covers the criteria used to analyze innovative stocks like NVIDIA (value chain and top-down analysis).
I sincerely hope that this book will inspire everyone who wants to start investing in stocks and serve as a powerful catalyst for achieving wealth.
