Joseph has a cherished overcoat.
But I've been wearing it for so long that it's got holes all over it and now it's too tight.
Joseph was wondering what to do, so he cut out the worn-out, holey part and made a jacket out of it, which he wore stylishly.
As time passed, Joseph's jacket became worn out again to the point where it could no longer be tilted, so this time he made a vest out of it.
And as time went by, the vest became a scarf, the scarf became a tie, the tie became a handkerchief, and the handkerchief eventually became a tiny button.
The large overcoat became the button for Joseph's stylish overalls.
Then one day, the button fell off Joseph's clothes and disappeared somewhere.
Joseph kept sewing, cutting, and making until he finally had a button on his beloved overcoat... but now that he'd lost that button, wouldn't he be able to make anything else?

This story is taken from traditional Jewish folk poetry and can be sung to capture the rhythm of the repeated story.

2. Through the use of DIE-CUT HOLE (holes used in the illustrations), the limitations of the flatness of picture books are overcome, and children develop their logical thinking by imagining and guessing what the overcoat will gradually turn into through these holes on each page.
