The grand finale of the "Night and Moon" series, the tenth story.

My heart for you
When your heart that cares for me gathers ‘here’,
Whoosh~ We can all fly high!

The 'Night and the Moon' series, which has been unfolding a new adventure with every step since the first three volumes in 2021, concludes with the tenth story, 'Fly, Butterfly'.
The theme chosen by author Noh In-gyeong for her last story is none other than support and love for life.
Let's consider how much love is contained in our children's small bodies and hearts, and how far those precious hearts can go when they come together. Let's follow the movements of Bami and Dal-i, who are just now setting off for the wide park with their yellow toy helicopter.

Publisher's Review
“The butterfly is huge.
“The wings are like the moon.”
Even at the moment when tears burst out at the irreversible mistake
What we must not forget is the belief that we can rise again.

Bami and Dal-i head to the park with cheerful gaits.
In the park, countless beings are checking on each other's well-being and their own.
As Bami and Dal-i continue to fly and catch toy helicopters, a butterfly catches their eye.
The butterfly with wings as yellow as the moon somehow does not fly away but sits on the ground and does not move.
Bami and Dal, worried that it might be dangerous, gathered stones and made a round butterfly house.
As Bami was once again absorbed in playing with the helicopter, he stumbled and unknowingly stepped on a butterfly's thin wing.
I was so surprised that tears came out like a waterfall.
Even the moon, which always calmly comforted Bami, was unable to help but feel a clear sadness at this moment.
But after a while, the butterfly raises itself up by its own power.
Little by little, as the butterfly turns, pushing off the ground, a wave of relief washes over me.
But the moon butterfly, which seems to have no energy, flies for a while and then lands weakly again, repeating this.
Bami and Dal-i soon lower their bodies and carefully breathe into the wind.
Hoo~ Hoo~ Then, the creatures of the park, big and small, that had been watching, began to gather around the night and the moon.
Will the butterfly be able to fly safely into the sky, riding on everyone's wind that grows like a wave?

The power of images created by the juxtaposition of yellow and black, handcraft and digital, reality and fantasy.

The story of "Fly, Butterfly," which was told with clear yellow and various tones of black as its main colors, begins to be written through various colors and textures starting from this moment when various beings gather their breath.
The night sky in the final scene is filled with a rich energy created by the overlapping of warmth and coldness, emptiness and fullness, smoothness and roughness.
Although it is a simple world with unnecessary descriptions omitted, the bold humor and natural expressions of author Noh In-gyeong, hidden throughout, powerfully exude their charm in this story as well.
It seems to push my buttocks to move from me to the typist, from the solid ground to the high sky, from my neighborhood to the bigger world.

“When my children were young, I used to think how wonderful it would be if they grew up looking at a series of picture books created by our author.
Now it's done." - Picture book author Lee Su-ji

"Here is a world where children can be children to their heart's content." - Critic Kim Ji-eun

Always looking towards the present of our children
A world of ten volumes completed by picture book author Noh In-gyeong

When the wings of the butterfly, finally rising high into the air, fill the screen with relief, we all look at the butterfly's wounds, tangled and twisted with our breath.
It is a cute and crooked miracle created by a child's mind.
Bami and Dal-i, who came to teach readers how to make friends, how to defeat the witch under the blanket, and how to forget the pain of being hit by the king's poison, brought milk and green onions and made them laugh, and spread the art of empathy while wandering between the tissues and in the refrigerator of the night.
After going through an endlessly growing umbrella and an exciting mystery game, Bami and Dal-i finally arrived under the warm night sky of Fly, Butterfly.
Now is the time to fully enjoy 'Night and Moon', which has established itself as Korea's representative children's picture book series.
