“That could be possible!”

The writings of someone who has lived for over 70 years are precious.
This is what someone who has overcome the harsh vicissitudes of life, experienced countless heartbreaking separations, and been on the verge of death says.
“That could be possible!”

Yang Hee-eun, who made a big impact with "That's Right, That's Right," has returned after two years with a deeper story.
Yang Hee-eun's writing is special.
I don't comfort anyone carelessly, and I don't say I love you hastily.
But, as if completely soaked in the drizzle that fell before we knew it, his calm thoughts find sadness within us and moisten it, making us reflect on certain times in our lives.
This book goes beyond aging and takes us one step closer to separation.
He writes his own breakup preparation note, and writes about a day when he cried out loud after receiving a farewell call from his closest friend and seeing Songaksan Mountain in Kaesong from the Unification Observatory under a clear sky.
Every time I experience a breakup, my heart feels blocked, and I walk endlessly along the Han River, waiting for the sadness to pass like spring pushing out winter. The sheer patience I have digs deep into my heart.

The part where Yang Hee-eun, who is 72, interprets her musical life of over 53 years from her perspective is also impressive.
The story of how he realized years later, "This is the social nature of songs!" after his debut song [Morning Dew], which became a synonym for his name, makes us think again about what kind of singer Yang Hee-eun is in the history of Korean popular music.
In addition, we can also see a glimpse of sisterhood in the writings that convey respect and solidarity to female singers, both senior and junior.

Not only that, but for those who are going through a dark tunnel like twenty-year-old Yang Hee-eun due to financial difficulties, emotional wounds, endless hatred towards someone, or physical illness, instead of giving advice, she shares her story of how she got through that time and offers comfort in the style of Yang Hee-eun.
Rather than saying this or that, say, “Yeah, I know that.
A single word like “You were like that too” is much more powerful.
A bucket of shit fell out of the sky and I just happened to be in that exact spot and got hit, so I said, “It’s not your fault.
“Keep your head up high!” says Yang Hee-eun.
On days when your heart is heavy, on days when you need a friend to lean on, you absolutely must open this book!

Chapter 1.
How many more times can we meet?

-Going to Santiago, Spain
-The truth of life contained in three glasses
-After 59 years, I laid my father to rest at the National Cemetery.

-If you find it difficult to accept and love yourself
-You must have eyes that are alive all the time.
-If you're depressed and have no appetite
-Everyone has at least one barrier they can't overcome.
-That could be possible
-With the power of warm and cozy concentration

Into the book
I wish there was some kindness among people.
Sometimes, when I look at the stars in the night sky, I think about how close the stars may seem to each other, but they are actually hundreds of millions of light years apart.
How far is the distance between me and the stars I look up at from this land?
As between stars, so too will it be between people.
So, I hope people don’t get too hung up on love…

---From "Chapter 1: Happiness, How Thirsty We Wish for It"

These days, even the ordinary, uneventful days seem like miracles, and the eyes we meet are filled with a lonely pity.
Tears well up in my eyes and glisten as my heart aches. Is the place you're standing right now comfortable?
---From "Chapter 1: Perhaps living means wandering alone through the fields, searching for a path"

After falling countless times, being shaken, being messed up by the judgments of others, and getting back up again, reflecting on myself and others, seeing some people waver and others stand up straight, I was finally able to keep my distance.
Time has taught me that.
Instead of letting go of the hand I was holding, it just slipped away.

---From "Let's get together and share food, worries, or anything else"

No matter how hard I try, I can never get used to a breakup. Even though it's been 10 years since my friend left, there are days when I feel a dull, heavy pain in the scars that remain.
How many more times will I be able to see the people who are precious to me in my life?
How many more times can we meet?

---From "Chapter 1: Goodbye, My Friend"

Human limitations… .
A part that is entirely yours alone, for no one can suffer for you or die for you…
The sadness of the family watching from the side… .
Many people say that in the process, their perspective on life changed, their thoughts changed, they redefine happiness, and they come to know the humility that money and fame cannot buy.
As I was throwing things away and organizing them, I began to rank what was most important to me.

---From "Chapter 1: Everything is Useless After You Leave"

Perhaps the most vital bond in the world is that between mother and daughter, and between daughter and daughter.
I hope that everyone reading this article can live a life of more communication and without regrets.

---From "Chapter 1: Petals are endlessly blown by the wind, and the day we meet is far away"

It was only after a long time that I realized, 'This is the social nature of song.'
The song belongs to the one who sings it.
It's not the song that was created by the singer who first sang it.
No one can predict what kind of chest it will be called after going through many refractions.
So there will be tens of thousands of “morning dews” in the world.
---From "I owe a debt to the song in chapter 2"

The media was making a fuss about how jeans and an acoustic guitar were symbols of rebellious youth culture, and they were calling me a "jeans singer" and all that.
As a poor rookie singer, all I needed was a crisp 500 won note in my back pocket.

---From "The Female Singer Wearing Jeans and Rubber Shoes"

Because it is a profession that requires a lot of attention from others, there are senior female singers who have gone through a difficult path while sometimes being criticized.
How much did the songs they sang behind the scenes and in their daily lives, enduring discrimination and harsh words, soothe people's loneliness?

---From "Chapter 2: To the Senior Female Singers Who Have Walked the Difficult and Rough Road"

A well-made song touches the heart even when sung unaccompanied.
However, songs made with the desire to be hits sound strangely creaky and embarrassing to sing when there is no accompaniment or choreography.
If you have selfish intentions in your song, you won't be able to captivate anyone.
Whether it's a song, a person, or a tree, if they don't have a solid framework to withstand the passage of time, we quickly turn away from them.

---From "If Songs in Chapter 2 Have Fate"

I believe in the power of sisterhood, where women pull together and care for one another.
As I lived, I relied on that power and also tried to share it in my own way.
"Women are the enemy of women"? That's not true.

---From "Chapter 2: Singing Sisterhood"

I hope that my songs will be a source of encouragement to someone, like the wind that patted my back, and I put that wind into my songs.

---From "Chapter 2 My Song is the Wind"

I have three friends with whom I share an unusually large amount of things.
We met when we were seventeen and nineteen and became close, and although we hurt each other, our relationship is incomparable to that of anyone else.
Although we are both busy with our own lives and cannot spend as much time together as we did when we were young, a word a friend occasionally says still resonates deeply in my heart.

---From "Chapter 3 To a Friend I Miss"

In the end, what remains are the memories of sharing our hearts.
The memories of moments when our hearts touched each other awaken us, encourage us, support us, and make life worth living.

---From "Chapter 3: On Days When You Can't Do Anything"

The person I like and love also loves and protects me.
It's hard, but if you ask for help, you can be safe again.
Experts tell us that believing that you have someone on your side no matter what is going on gives you the strength to get through each day.

---From Chapter 3, “The person I like loves and protects me”

My job involves speaking on the radio every day, so sometimes I desperately need a cave of my own.
To me, being silent and still is rest.
Although traveling with my husband is great, I also need some time alone, so after declaring that I would travel alone, it became my monthly event.

---From "Chapter 4: I Need to Travel Alone"

When I meet people who have the same pain, I am reminded of the child inside me.
I know all too well what kind of pain it is, so I just keep my mouth shut.
There is no need to add words of comfort.
'Yeah, I know that.
Just say, 'You were like that too,' and that's it.
Then, strangely enough, the same pain erases the same value and the pain subsides.

---From "Chapter 4 To the Child Within Me"

I wonder if it's true that you have to go down as far as you can and hit rock bottom to get back up.
Let's say that he doesn't just hate himself, but that he really hates himself.
Then, one day, the hatred will reach its peak.
Then one day, it will definitely come up.
That's the way it is.

---From “Chapter 4: If It’s Difficult to Accept and Love Yourself”

Moreover, I must have had friends, love, work, and family all because of that.
Was there anyone who gave it to me because they wanted to hurt me?
I guess it was because his speed was tangled and he was cornered.
If that were the situation, I would have done the same.
Thinking about it this way, I feel a sense of relief, and I think I gave advice to my juniors who were having a hard time because they were being pushed around by people, saying, “You can do that.”
---From "Chapter 4: It Could Be"

Publisher's Review
“Everything is okay.
“There’s no need to be depressed!”

When I'm feeling depressed, I eat a mouthful of ssam,
When I hate myself, I go down to the bottom and try it out.
When you hate someone, think, 'What must he have been like that?'
Yang Hee-eun's refreshing comfort and generous embrace are back after two years!

The writings of someone who has lived for over 70 years are precious.
This is what someone who has overcome the harsh vicissitudes of life, experienced countless heartbreaking separations, and been on the verge of death says.
“It can be!” Yang Hee-eun’s writing is special.
I don't comfort anyone carelessly, and I don't say I love you hastily.
But, as if completely soaked in the drizzle that fell before we knew it, his calm thoughts find sadness within us and moisten it, making us reflect on certain times in our lives.
Every house has cracks and broken glass, and everyone carries a wounded child in their arms.
Yang Hee-eun takes out her own fragments from the book without any filter and extends her hand, saying that now we can laugh together.

"are you okay.
Okay, okay.
“That could be!” (p. 240)

“Everyone is as great as I am.
The weight of life I carry is so heavy that I want to die.
“Maybe we are so similar that I will just sit next to you.” (From the prologue)

This book goes beyond aging and takes us one step closer to separation.
He writes his own breakup preparation note, and writes about a day when he cried out loud after receiving a farewell call from his closest friend and seeing Songaksan Mountain in Kaesong from the Unification Observatory under a clear sky.
“I hated you so much.
With the final greeting, “I liked it that much.”
Every time I experience a breakup, my heart feels blocked, and I walk endlessly along the Han River, waiting for the sadness to pass like spring pushing out winter. The sheer patience I have digs deep into my heart.

“No matter how hard I try, I can never get used to a breakup. Even though it’s been 10 years since my friend left, there are days when I feel a dull, heavy pain in the scars that remain.
How many more times will I be able to see the people who are precious to me in my life?
“How many more times can we meet?” (page 31)

“What was it that made life so difficult and made it so hard to make time?
“It’ll be too late tomorrow.” (Page 49)

“How can I ever repay this burdensome song debt?
“I became a person who lived with a lot of debt on one side of my chest.”
The honest story of a singer in his 53rd year who has many unfinished songs!

Singer Yang Hee-eun has been singing for over 53 years.
He confesses that he still gets nervous when he stands on stage, just as he did when he debuted with "Morning Dew" in 1971.
When I stand on stage and sing every day, I can easily sing wherever I am, but on rare occasions, I suffer from anxiety, waking up in the middle of the night to hum the lyrics, afraid that I might forget them.
To that extent, singing is an eternal homework and desire for him.
A life behind the stage where you practice hundreds of times to overcome stage fright, live by gently soothing, relaxing, and protecting your throat due to vocal cord problems, and never stop challenging and trying to live as a contemporary singer, not a singer who sings past hit songs.
Singer Yang Hee-eun's life, which we didn't know about, may seem boring, but it was clever and honest.

“Isn’t a song ultimately a story that conveys the heart?
I just sing the stories that come to my mind.
My attitude towards singing has not changed since then.
Also, I don't like songs that go well with rice.
“I hate replaying 70s songs over and over again, reminiscing!” (p. 114)

It is no exaggeration to say that the part where Yang Hee-eun's debut song, "Morning Dew," which follows her name like a pronoun, is interpreted and presented from a present-day perspective is the essence of the book.
No one can predict how a song will be sung after going through many twists and turns, and the story of how, after several years of realizing, "This is the social nature of song!" makes us think again about what kind of singer Yang Hee-eun is in the history of Korean popular music.
Additionally, you can get a glimpse of the sisterhood in the story of remaking songs by junior female singers that was not revealed in previous interviews and in the writing expressing respect for senior female singers.
Yang Hee-eun's musical career is currently in progress, as she wishes to be remembered as a singer who never stops, like the wind that blows without rest.

“I believe in the power of sisterhood, where women pull together and support each other.
As I lived, I relied on that power and also tried to share it in my own way.
"Women are the enemy of women? No." (p. 120)

“Happiness, how thirstily we seek the right words!”
A friend who knows me without explanation,
A cool breeze blowing from the park in front of the house,
A day trip I took alone,
There is happiness in a bowl of warm soup!

There is something called fermented skate.
They are so small that when pickled, their entire bodies melt and rot away, leaving only their black eyes like dots.
Yang Hee-eun says that one large shrimp is better than tens of thousands of small crabs.
The happiness he found was living with one or two people who understood him without explanation, sharing food, worries, and anything else.

At first glance, it seems like she would live a glamorous and comfortable life as a singer and broadcaster, but the story that she was exhausted from work and caregiving responsibilities and went on a trip to nearby Japan alone, only to return after sitting blankly in the hallway of an underground food court is quite shocking.
Beyond the television screen, Yang Hee-eun lives a life similar to ours.

“After lunch, I bought some water and fruit from the convenience store, had a quick meal, and walked around in silence.
If you're browsing the food court in the basement of a famous department store, you'll lose track of time.
I browse the basement food court and sit in the long hallway connecting the east and west wings.
“It’s also fun to sit down and observe the elderly people resting like me.” (p. 202)

At the end of the book, instead of giving advice to those who are going through a dark tunnel like twenty-year-old Yang Hee-eun due to financial difficulties, emotional wounds, endless hatred towards someone, or physical illness, Yang Hee-eun shares her story of how she got through that time and offers comfort in her own way.
If you have these concerns, you absolutely cannot miss this book!

-How to live with the child inside me
-If you find it difficult to accept and love yourself
-If you don't know how to live
-If you're depressed and have no appetite
-If you stand before an insurmountable barrier
-If “it can be done” doesn’t work
