"Su-min's US Stock Investment Story" is the new work of Lee Ju-taek, a tenured professor at Rutgers Law School who is renowned as a US stock expert with "Opportunity Coming Again, US Stocks Are the Answer." It is a "US stock investment guide" that maximizes readability and fun through the novel format.
The protagonist (Su-min), a 30-something woman who works as an M&A lawyer in New York but knows almost nothing about stocks, meets her mentor, Professor Half, who has achieved great success in investing in American stocks, and learns the fundamentals of investing thoroughly.
In the process, the protagonist's life gradually changes and he grows greatly economically and psychologically.

The protagonist trades stocks once a month, experiencing success and mistakes.
By following this process, readers will learn how a salaried worker can increase their investment asset pool with a fixed amount each month and achieve compound interest.
This book is based on actual stock price movements in response to real-world international political and macroeconomic situations from July 2024 to February 2025. As readers follow the protagonist's investment decisions, they will feel as if they are making a real investment right now.
In other words, the investment skills and wisdom of investment experts can be applied more easily and safely to actual investments.

Epilogue

Into the book
Even though I heard the professor talk about asset allocation, I couldn't give up my obsession with Tesla, which is very 'hot' among my friends these days.
So I asked the professor.

“But Professor, Tesla is currently trading at $263, up 45% in just one month.
“Should I buy a Tesla now?”
“How much have you learned about Tesla now?
I was embarrassed.

“Yes… I didn’t really study, I just chatted with friends. Tesla is an electric car company, and I heard that they recently announced Autonomous Driving 12.5, so they’re riding the momentum like ChatGPT.
Also, as it is an energy company, sales of Megapack are increasing, and shared taxis and Optimus robots are coming out soon.
Elon Musk is leading the company well, and there are good connections with SpaceX, xAI, Neuralink, etc.
“First of all, I just bought a new Model Y and I love it!”
“Since I’m also in charge of corporate mergers and acquisitions, I should also do valuation, which is a corporate value assessment, right?”
“Yes, Professor.
“I need to take the time to calculate the company’s financial statements and PER (Price Earnings Ratio) and also look at the cash flow.”
“First of all, since I haven’t studied yet, it would be better to study the company more thoroughly before buying stocks rather than rushing to buy them.
The most basic thing about stock investing is judging how good the company you are investing in is.
Of course, you've probably had in-depth discussions with smart friends, but you need to study thoroughly yourself so that your faith doesn't waver even when the stock price adjusts.

The second most important thing is to calculate the fair stock price after studying. You can calculate it absolutely using the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method, or you can compare it to other similar companies by multiplying the EPS (Earnings Per Share) by an appropriate PER multiple (premium).
Since subjective factors may be involved no matter how you search, it is best to search by setting an appropriate range.

The best way to trade stocks is to buy and sell apples in the market.
The stock market is ultimately a market, so it's better to buy stocks cheaply and sell them high, like buying apples.
Of course, like real investors, they participate in funding rounds where companies raise funds before going public, or they invest from the beginning in companies that have just gone public or have gone public through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

Anyway, the start is very important in stocks.
If you buy any stock without doing any research, there is a very high chance that you will get caught at an expensive high.
Even now, the stock market is doing really well before Independence Day, and Tesla is doing well, so I feel like buying stocks.
But now the stock price has reached its peak, reflecting all the good things that are out there in the market.
In other words, the stock price is at its most expensive.”
