Publisher's Review
■“I heard there are scary child monsters living in the outside world?”
One afternoon, cheese-flavored popsicles, salty pretzels, and strawberry-flavored wafers emerge from their packages.
Then, by chance, he finds a note.
The note contains the words the mother left for her child before going out.
It says that I have put out some snacks so that you can eat them when you get home...
The Wafer Monster scares the unsuspecting pretzel and cheese-flavored popcorn, telling them that the child monster is a terrifying monster that can crush the snack trio with one hand, drop them in milk, or swallow them in one bite.
The three candy musketeers become anxious and try to figure out a way to avoid being eaten by the little monster before he gets home...
Will the Candy Trio be able to use their wits to save themselves from the child monsters?
This picture book, featuring snacks commonly found around us as its main characters, is so captivating that any child will be delighted.
Above all, it is a very pleasant and interesting story written from the perspective of a confectioner.
Every child has probably imagined at least once what it would be like if something were actually alive.
“Strawberry wafers, cheese popsicles, and even salty pretzels.
“The snacks you usually enjoy can talk?” This picture book brings children’s wild imaginations to life. As you look at the familiar snack friends, you will find yourself completely absorbed in the story.
The ending, which is both delightful and somewhat eerie, with the wafers disappearing at the end, is left open to the readers' imagination.
■ A special picture book made using ‘real’ sweets and real objects!
"Run Away, Cookie Trio!" is a picture book that personifies real-life cookies that we enjoy eating and uses everyday objects from our surroundings.
Terry Border created three-dimensional characters by twisting thin wires into the candy trio to give them limbs and glasses.
Although we cannot read their facial expressions, the sweets' dynamic and lively gestures are enough to convey emotions and create the illusion that they are truly alive.
Another scene where they play boating using cups and popsicle sticks from the kitchen sink as paddles is a great example of Terry Border's ingenious and humorous ideas.
