Book Introduction
The beginning of Dorothy's fantastical adventure, which asks what wisdom and courage are!
Lyman Frank Baum's masterpiece, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is a masterpiece by American children's book author Lyman Frank Baum.
It is said that this is one of the stories he wrote for children every night while working various jobs such as magazine editor, newspaper reporter, and salesman.
Frank Baumman's unique imagination was already recognized in the 20th century and influenced various works of art, including films, musicals, and comics.
This influence has led to various interpretations by critics, and at one point it attracted attention for its interesting perspective that it satirized contemporary American society.
Dive into the fantastical world of Frank Lyman Baum's adventures through this mini-book with a first edition cover from 1900.

Dorothy's adventures, beloved around the world
The Wizard of Oz, the greatest fantasy fairy tale of the 20th century

Dorothy, an ordinary girl, a brainless Scarecrow, a heartless Tin Woodman, and a Cowardly Lion, among other unique characters, come together and embark on a mysterious adventure to find what they want.
The various hardships they encountered on their journey to find a magician who would grant their wishes made them realize that they already had wisdom, warmth, and courage within them.
The young girl Dorothy, who was dropped into an unfamiliar place, reacts to the situation positively and flexibly, unlike other children, and the scarecrow, who was thought to be lacking in wisdom because he was made of straw, shows prudence and deep thinking even in a crisis.
The Tin Woodman is kinder to those around him because he knows he has no heart, and the cowardly Lion even takes risks for his friends.

This is a book I read with my mother when I was very young.
If your child is not interested in books, I recommend the original The Wizard of Oz or the various versions of The Wizard of Oz that have been made into movies and musicals.
