Living without hurting each other
Description
Book Introduction
In an age of loneliness, young people strive to reach each other without getting hurt.
If there is one word that defines the present age, it would probably be 'loneliness.'
We are closer than any other generation, but we don't reach as deeply.
The group chat room is constantly ringing, but there is no conversation.
I know my friend's birthday, but I don't know how he's feeling these days.
The social media feed keeps coming up, but there's no time to actually look each other in the eye.
Our book, "Living Without Hurting Each Other," chronicles the relationship fatigue, the weight of isolation, and the will to reconnect that young people experience today.
They want to get closer to each other, but the closer they get, the more they take a step back for fear of getting hurt.
I want to get closer, but the closer I get, the more I get hurt.
The story of hedgehog youths who cannot give up on each other.
They pretend to be cool on the outside, but in reality, they want to be loved and loved, and they want to understand and be understood by each other.
This book takes a close look into those hearts.
It gently proves the sentiment that "even while we try not to get hurt, we ultimately reach out to each other."
Nine young people and nine writers: literary responses to each other.
There is a story written by nine hedgehog youths.
And here are the writings of nine authors who responded to that story.
The confession of life born from a young man met the language of literature and was connected into one link.
The writers' response to the intimate stories shared by young people is 'conversation and comfort, empathy and connection.'
Discover the most affectionate sentences for each other, where one person's confession gives courage to another.
Youth Zip Project - A story that started with text and ended with a relationship
〈Living Without Hurting Each Other〉 is the result of the project 〈Youth Zip〉 conducted by the non-profit organization Today.
A project that tells the stories of young people living in society with diverse appearances and values through the works of young artists.
In 2025, the topic of 'Hedgehog Youth' was discussed between closeness and distance.
We solicited stories of young people who experience the "hedgehog's dilemma," a contradictory psychological state of wanting intimacy in a relationship while also wanting to maintain an appropriate distance, and who struggle within various forms of relationships.
Nine young artists responded to nine youth stories selected through a public contest in their own unique way.
