I'm still writing today
Description
Book Introduction
It's already been 10 years since I started teaching writing to students at university.
I still teach writing classes and interact with students.
And I enjoy the time I spend in the classroom, making eye contact and communicating with the students.
As time passed, I felt a strong desire to write about my experiences working with students.
Also, people around me often asked me how to write well because I majored in literature and have been teaching writing for a long time.
Every time that happened, I asked myself:
'What is the best way to write?'
Since then, whenever I had free time, I started organizing stories that I wanted to share with people who were curious and interested in writing.
I am one of those people who believes that there is no absolute method (skill) for writing.
I think that this is a field where you can freely express your individuality.
However, I think there are some basic things that people who want to write well must keep in mind and have.
In fact, there were common threads in the questions and concerns about writing that were raised in class.
So, I thought it would be a good idea to organize the things I've learned in my writing classes and share them with many people.
I began to write down the questions that students and my acquaintances who attended my lectures often asked me.
However, when I started writing, I made one promise to myself.
I'm not going to suggest or teach you how to write.
I wanted to talk about writing, but tell my story.
This book is an essay that summarizes my experiences teaching writing for about 10 years.
Rather than discussing something grand like a 'special secret', we 'talked' about very basic things, things that we sometimes forget.
There are already many books on writing in circulation, but I've written down my personal experiences and common feelings I've had in class.
Writing is a part of my life, so I want to share with readers the story of writing that is deeply ingrained in my life.
I hope this will be a time to rekindle within me elements that we already know, but have briefly forgotten.
I hope that many readers will find it easy to read as if they were reading a story, but also find it helpful in their daily lives.
There are two ways for people to express themselves in life: speaking and writing.
Words and writing are two things that cannot be separated in life.
It is difficult to live without speaking or without writing.
I hope that through this book, readers will take a step closer to writing in their own lives.
