Anna Mary Robertson Moses, who brought comfort and courage to countless people with her book, “It’s Never Too Late.”
She was very active, leaving behind over 1,600 works from the age of 76 until just before she passed away at the age of 101. Winter appears particularly frequently in her paintings.
As I look at the paintings that I drew, as if recording my memories of simple daily life, the winter of that time comes back to me vividly.
Although it is a winter landscape, you can feel a unique loveliness and warmth in my grandmother's painting.
Perhaps because of this, Christmas cards with cute winter scenes have sold over 100 million copies.

What did Christmas look like in Grandma's memories?
What kind of excitement and heart-filled day it was?
On the night before Christmas, people go from house to house, sing hymns, and when the hymns are over, they give out sweet gifts like candy or cake.
People who diligently make a path through the high snowfield, ride sleds together and make memories.
Although it is a cold and bleak winter, people live each day vividly, just like in any other season.
Their lives were completed as a beautiful picture book with the grandmother's simple writing and rich illustrations.
The book also includes a short Christmas essay by Grandma Moses, published for the first time in Korea.
The warm scene inside the house from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day, which was the first thing in my grandmother's memory, is vividly depicted.
You can't help but love four-year-old Moses's grandmother's confession that she was scared of Santa Claus's visit because it was her first time hearing about him.


This book is a picture book filled with my grandmother's simple and lovely drawings and text.
This is a picture book filled with warmth not only for children, but also for us who were once children and have now suddenly become adults.
