commentary
106 The childlike heart waiting for spring, its innocent lyricism_Kim Kyung-ho (poet)

Into the book
Following the sunlight filtering through the curtains
Open the veranda window

The spring breeze is blowing in at an odd pace
The plants that have been sleeping all winter
Shake them all awake

Clothes that haven't been sorted out yet
Led by the master's hand
Trapped deep in the closet
The cutie who followed me wherever I went
Going round and round biting one's own tail
I also fall asleep while embracing the sunlight

Through such narrow windows
Just a ray of sunlight came in
Wherever the spring breeze touches
Things that are in the hands of clumsy hands
Fidgeting inside and outside of me
Wriggling in the spring breeze
--- From "The Window Where Spring Comes"

Another spring is coming and it is new
Outside the door is a world of trees
Stay cooped up in the living room all winter
Camellia moved to the apartment flower bed
I'll put down deeper roots

Pushing out the times when I was trapped
Farther and higher
The glossy leaves are spread out
Birds taking a short rest
It also gives branches like a torch
I'll even light the flower lamp

With the warm sunlight behind us
Camellia buds turning increasingly dark red
Until the blue dawn soon
I will count the stars in the night sky
--- From "Camellia in the Flower Garden"
