Go crazy for hip grandmas and grandpas!

Actress Yoon Yeo-jeong, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 75, 69-year-old fashion YouTuber Milanonna, 72-year-old 'star YouTuber' Park Mak-rye who met the CEO of Google after the CEO of YouTube, 77-year-old Lee Chan-jae with 400,000 Instagram followers, old gentleman Yeo Yong-gi with 50,000 followers, and 86-year-old plank man Kim Young-dal who appeared on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block'.
Hip grandmas and grandpas who create their own lives without limiting their old age are on the rise.
Even overseas, terms like 'granny chic' and 'grandmillennial' are trending, and the unique lifestyles of young and old are gaining attention. The MZ generation in particular is enthusiastic about their words, values, and fashion.
Perhaps this phenomenon stems from the genuine and compelling lives of adults, not just those who are simply older, but those who demonstrate their constant effort. Perhaps it offers a silent hope that, for a generation more anxious about the future than any other, they can live a hip and stylish old age, a life that's still quite decent.

Drawing a unique and exciting senior life!

Here is a wonderful grandmother and grandfather couple who, although not in a glamorous or special old age, add strength to that unspoken hope.
They are 'Gusana', a grandmother with short hair, and 'Choi Jong-chun', a grandfather wearing a beanie and carrying an eco-bag.
Just looking at this cute old couple makes me feel good, makes me want to love like them, and live like them.
In short, they are a charming grandma and grandpa couple that is hard to find anywhere else.
The 'Gooding Old Couple' is a fictional elderly couple created from the curiosity of an illustrator who, since childhood, wondered how they would age, what they would look like when they were older, and whether they would be able to love each other forever.

While studying design in England, the artist met an elderly couple with short hair and a grandmother carrying an eco-bag and wearing a beanie. He also encountered many elderly couples living a "young old age." From then on, he began to draw pictures of elderly couples in earnest.
He runs Gooding Art, drawing pictures of the life he has been so curious about in old age and the daily life he dreams of in old age.
And this time, I captured the cute daily life of an elderly couple in a picture essay.

What makes us look forward to our old age
A Feel-Gooding Old Couple Illustrated Essay

The picture essay “I Want to Live Like This with You” is written in the format of Grandma Gusana recording the daily life of an elderly couple in preparation for the day when either she or her husband loses their memories.
The diary-like records that Grandma 'Gusana' passes on to her husband, Grandpa 'Choi Jong-chun', as if in conversation, are composed of 'The Morning of the Old Couple Guding, The Daily Life of the Old Couple Guding, The Love of the Old Couple Guding, and The Seasons of the Old Couple Guding.'
This composition is somewhat unique in that each chapter contains a message related to life in old age.


In Chapter 1, ‘I want to spend a morning like this with you’, ‘morning’ means the beginning and the beginning.


“If we calculate life in terms of time, would it be evening now?
I hope that the excitement I felt at first doesn't change with time.
Just like that back then.
“Like every morning.”

In Chapter 2, 'I want to spend this kind of everyday life with you', 'Daily Life' depicts the small pleasures that can be enjoyed in old age, even though the daily life becomes more and more repetitive as we get older.

Chapter 3, “I Want to Love You Like This,” depicts the sweet love of old age that may seem impossible.

Lastly, in Chapter 4, 'I Want to Spend These Seasons with You', 'Season' depicts a life in which one enjoys the various seasons even in old age and naturally accepts the passage of time and aging.

Above all, 'The Daily Life of the Gooding Couple' is full of pictures and text that make you feel good just by looking at them.
When I look at the picture of the old couple Gooding, I feel like I am a grandmother now and in the future.
A smile naturally spreads across my face as I picture myself as a grandfather.
I feel somehow empowered and comforted by the thought that we can create a more unique and fun old age than the one we are worried about now.
So, this is a sweet essay that would be great to share with those who dream of a slightly newer old age, as well as those who want to create a different old age with someone they love.

Our old age will be better than we think.
Maybe it will be cooler and better than it is now!

In fact, when I think of old age, I think of a painful and sad old age rather than a bright future.
The obvious old age that anyone can imagine often eats away at me today.
Don't we sometimes need to take the time to think about and imagine what old age will be like? Not a sad and fearful one, but one that's anticipated, exciting, and fun?
If we can live a simple, unadorned old age, one filled with creation and planning, perhaps we can fill today, this very moment, with more meaning. Facing the painting of the Gooding couple, I find myself hopeful that our old age will be better than we expected.
I even thought that maybe it could be even better and more wonderful than it is now!
