Epilogue: Suffering Was a Blessing

The mega-bestseller, "I Love You, Ji-seon," which moved 400,000 readers, has been published in a recover edition.
This book, “Again, Newly - I Love Jiseon” is a revised and combined edition of the bestsellers “I Love Jiseon” and “I’m Happy Today Too” published in 2003 and 2005, respectively.
The book is woven with the theme of the six gifts that her second life brought to Lee Ji-seon: 'life', 'hardship', 'miracle', 'gratitude', 'love', and 'hope', and tells the story of the secrets of life she discovered as she reconciled with her incredible fate and regained hope.


Life is a gift
On July 30, 2000, 23-year-old Lee Ji-seon suffered third-degree burns to 55 percent of her body in a seven-car pileup caused by a drunk driver while returning home in her older brother's car after studying at the school library.
It was a burn so severe that it was difficult to find a precedent for it, earning it the nickname of ‘Korea’s No. 1 burn victim.’
The medical team was pessimistic, saying that there was no hope for her survival and that even if she did survive, she would not look human. However, after overcoming seven months of hospitalization, over 30 painful surgeries, and rehabilitation, Lee Ji-seon experienced the miracle of new skin growing on her nose, forehead, and cheeks.
That's how Lee Ji-seon was reborn.
Even though she is an unfamiliar face that even her family cannot recall her former self, and although she had eight fingers except her thumb amputated one by one and was diagnosed with a level 3 disability, she continued to live as an ordinary college student raised in a harmonious family, learning the secrets of life one by one that she would never have known, and her second life began.
