The unique elegance and humor of the elderly are particularly loved by the younger generation.
It is said that when he happened to find this book in a Japanese bookstore and was contacting the Japanese copyright holder to purchase the book's copyright, the editor in charge secretly laughed when he heard an unexpected story.
This is because I heard that when the news reached the elders who composed Senryu that “our poems might be published by a Korean publisher,” they were overcome with emotion and gathered from all over the country for serious meetings.
Because of this, the approval process became longer.

This happened after the winning entries were decided and the awards were sent out.
“It was the first time I received an award since I was born.
I've never been first in my studies, nor have I ever won first place at a sports day.
Being praised as a senryu is the greatest honor I have ever received in my long life.
“I want to cherish the award and put it in a coffin later.” All the judges were said to have been energized by the lively voice on the other end of the phone.
Sometimes I see older people on talk shows asking, “Do you have any siblings?” and they say in a nonchalant voice, “They’re all dead now.”
Perhaps because of his indifferent voice, I can't help but laugh, but there's definitely something that makes me feel sad.
Because I can feel the pain implied in those words.
I sincerely hope that Korean readers will love the senryu (short poems) and elders featured in this book.
