The above sentence is the life philosophy of Zeng Guofan, who suppressed the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the late Qing Dynasty.
While many historical figures ended their lives tragically, Zeng Guofan knew the virtue of moderation, retired at the right time, and lived a peaceful life.
He too goes through many difficult times, but eventually emerges as a figure respected by everyone.
In a letter to his younger brother, he confesses, "It was the trials that helped me grow."
Yes, that's right.
It is difficult to achieve results without going through a period of patience.
Emperor penguins living in Antarctica sit motionless on their eggs for about four months to hatch them.
During the four months that they incubate the eggs, they do not consume any food at all.
If they leave their eggs behind and go hunting for even a moment because they are hungry, the eggs will freeze.
The birth of a new life requires a long period of patience.
The same goes for plants.
Only after preparing during the cold winter can roses bloom.


From the time an egg hatches until a flower blooms, many changes occur internally, but they cannot be seen from the outside.
Change requires a considerable amount of time.
The same goes for preparing for exams.
Reaching a certain level requires constant effort and patience.
You cannot change the course of your life without the patience that comes with incubating an egg until the very last moment.
I think the exam is difficult.
Studying for exams is different from academics; it is a battle with oneself to achieve desired results within a certain period of time.
Although each test taker may have a certain level of ability, based on my experience teaching, I can confidently say that what is more important than individual ability is the effort and perseverance to overcome trials.
Because time is always limited for exams, you should be fully prepared for the questions before entering the exam room.
The best way to improve your practical skills is to solve a variety of problems.
In order to fully demonstrate the skills you have built up in the market, you must prepare for not only previously presented problems but also new problem trends.

Economics is perceived as a difficult subject in almost all exams.
It seems that this is no exception for students preparing for the 7th level civil service exam.
However, high scores in economics are becoming an important factor in determining whether one passes or fails.
While "7th Grade Economics" focuses on theory, this book aims to cultivate practical skills in students who have faithfully studied the theory.
The main features of this book are as follows:
First, to ensure that the basic theory can be faithfully acquired, the core contents of the theory are clearly organized and included in each chapter.
Second, we included all recent past exam questions from various exams to help test takers understand recent trends.
Third, in cases where in-depth understanding is required, we attempted to promote in-depth understanding through a column called “Points” separate from the problem explanation.


Recently, topics that were not previously tested, such as sequential games, auction theory, behavioral economics, housing and inventory investment, the term structure of interest rates, quantitative easing, and the impossible trinity, have been occasionally tested, and all of these topics have been included in the theory summary section.
Additionally, in the 8th edition, about half of the problems included in the 7th edition that did not match recent exam trends were deleted, and many problems that could reflect the latest trends were added.
This textbook contains problems divided into basic and advanced problems.
Since it takes a long time to solve all the problems, I think it would be a good idea to start by solving only the basic problems when studying, and then once you have built up some skills, review the theory again and solve the advanced problems.

The theory summary has also been thoroughly reinforced compared to the 7th edition to make it more useful for final review, and the problem explanations have also been significantly strengthened.
The number of problems has been reduced by about 10% compared to the 7th edition, but the book has not become that thin because the theoretical explanations have been supplemented and the explanations have been written more faithfully.
When you first start studying, I believe that if you thoroughly organize the theory through the theory summary and carefully read the explanations after solving the problems, you will be able to more firmly internalize the theory you learned in the textbook.
