Admissions Officers Secretly Share Confident College Interview Genealogy
Description
Book Introduction
An interview guide created by a former admissions officer and teacher.

This book was written by former college admissions officers and teachers based on their real-life experiences evaluating and guiding students.
Through years of conducting interview evaluations, we've compiled information on what answers are compelling and how to provide effective feedback when guiding interviews at individual high schools.

Differences from existing interview books

This book is different from other interview books that are a patchwork of previous ones, such as 'Interview Attire,' 'How to Greet,' and 'STAR Technique.'
This book is based on the experience of an admissions officer guiding students, and it differentiates itself from other interview books on the market by making it easy for anyone to understand how to answer questions that make them more attractive.
The authors of this book have worked as admissions officers at various universities for many years and have different majors.
However, the book was edited by Mr. Bae Young-jun of Boseong High School so that it is easy for students, parents, and teachers to understand, and it is organized so that students can accurately understand the interviewer's perspective and prepare for it.

An interview guidebook that each class should have, like a genealogy book.

This book is an interview guide designed to serve as a guide for both students and parents who are unsure about how to prepare for interviews and teachers who are concerned about how to guide interviews.
You can see the process of feedback from the interviewer and the student's answers changing before and after revision, which is not available in existing interview books.
Many people feel burdened by the high cost of interview practice.
So, even students who are afraid of interviews can use this book, one copy per class, to prepare and practice on their own and pass the interview, and we have shared as much of the admissions officer's experience as possible.

Into the book
For computer science applicants, learning coding in school is not an unusual experience.
It would be a mistake to think that learning coding will get you into computer engineering.
The successful candidate has experience developing computer-related apps and helping students around him use them in their daily lives.
When answering your motivation for applying, it is more attractive to answer about your experience helping others by developing apps rather than your experience learning coding.
A good activity is not a passive one like participating in class, but an active and proactive one that produces productive results, like developing an app.

--- p.63

It is better to answer questions about topic exploration, experiments, and report writing than about blood type testing or hospital volunteer work.
Because, blood type testing and hospital volunteer work are activities that even middle school students can do, so there is no differentiation from others.
The most fun activities related to my major are those that are deep, difficult, and explainable, more like high school activities than those that middle school students can do.
That's why topic exploration, experiments, and report writing are more attractive activities.

--- p.142

Interviewer: What do you think a kindergarten teacher is like?
Student: I think a kindergarten teacher is someone who has a good understanding of children and is good at caring for and teaching them.

Interviewer: I would like the applicant to describe in detail what he or she thinks the specific role of a kindergarten teacher should be.
What interviewers are curious about is not the dictionary definition of kindergarten teacher or the concept that comes up in a search.
Please answer the questions about your major so far.

Publisher's Review
(1) A book written by a former admissions officer

This book was written by a former admissions officer.
Sometimes, there are people in private education who have only worked at the university admissions office for a few months and have never even evaluated students, but they advertise that they were once admissions officers.
However, as you can see from the author introduction of this book, the authors include not only senior admissions officers at universities, but also five admissions officers with experience working at various universities and two teachers who are interview instructors.
That is why it is a book of a completely different dimension from other books that are copied from each other or books that are compiled based on students' reviews.

(2) Books for students, parents, and school teachers

This book is for students, parents, and teachers who are having difficulty preparing for interviews.
This book will help students take their interview skills several notches higher by guiding them on how to best answer interviewer questions.
This book is especially for parents and school teachers looking for an interview guide suitable for helping students with their interviews.
We provide guidance on how to best guide students by looking at the before and after feedback from the instructor.
It is said that there is no first-class instructor for the interview class.
If you look at special lectures on interviews, they only teach basic etiquette, such as how to greet people and how to speak.
However, after listening to the interview lectures given by the authors of this book, you will be surprised to find out that this is what interviews are like.
Direct author lectures for students or teachers are available at any time by contacting the publisher.
I hope this book will help you turn your interview into a turning point.
