"Frindle, Please" is a full-length fairy tale that humorously and seriously depicts the commotion that ensues when Nick, a boy with a bright idea, uses the word "frindle" instead of "pen."
The book was a huge hit with parents and children in the United States, winning many awards including the Christopher Award, the Judy Lopez Memorial Award, the Great Stone Face Award, the Rhode Island Children's Book Award, and the William Allen White Children's Book Award.

The word "princess" was not even three weeks old.
I now realize that this is the opportunity I have been hoping and dreaming of as a teacher.
It's an opportunity to watch bright students take the ideas they learn in boring classrooms and put them into practice in the real world.
To be honest, I'm watching with excitement to see what the experiment will turn out to be.
That's why I'm here now to watch.
