Description
Book Introduction
Popular cooking YouTuber Minyoki's first recipe book
* Naples Matpia, Kim Milan, Silver Spoon_ Recommended! *

'Minyoki' includes all-time top menu items and unreleased recipes.
Even heartwarming cooking essays

The first recipe book of YouTuber Minocchi, who introduces 'absolutely delicious' Italian home cooking recipes with a vocabulary that sounds more Korean than Koreans, has been published.
It includes 33 different menus that will pique your curiosity, including famous Italian dishes such as Aglio Olio, Vongole, Gnocchi, Risotto, and Lasagna, as well as Boscayola Pasta, Genovese Pasta, and Vitello Tonnato.

Most of the recipes in this book were learned by Minyochi himself, from over the shoulder of his grandmother, who was a cook in a shabby neighborhood restaurant for many years.
It is a home-cooked meal enjoyed in local Italian homes, and there is also a 130-year-old traditional recipe passed down through generations.
Perhaps that's why it's so easy and simple that anyone can follow along, but the taste is familiar yet very different, just by changing the ingredients and the recipe.
This is the taste of 'real' Italy!

Buonissimo~~~

Into the book
In Korea, Italian food has the impression of being a “luxury” food enjoyed in a nice atmosphere like a wine bar on special occasions.
Of course, that's definitely Italian food, but at the same time, there are a lot of Italian foods that have a very rustic feel, like olive oil and a slice of savory bread.
I decided to write my own book because I thought that the most important pillar of Italian cuisine is the simple, plain dishes made with fresh ingredients that Italians usually eat at home.
---From "Prologue"

Many of the recipes in this book are ones I learned from my grandmother, who worked as a cook in a shabby neighborhood restaurant for many years.
Even after retirement, Grandma enjoyed cooking for her granddaughter and sharing food with those around her.
I not only learned how to cook from my grandmother, but I also learned that cooking is a way to convey love.
That's why I chose 'Love' as the theme of this book.
---From "Prologue"

The subscribers to Minyoki's channel are definitely mostly in their 20s and 30s.
When I think about it, I think there are probably a lot of people like me in the past who have forgotten how to love themselves because they are so busy and exhausted, just like I was when I first came to Korea and started something important in life for the first time or just starting out.
So, I named the first chapter “LOVE yourself” with the meaning that no matter how busy or tired you are, let’s love ourselves with delicious food.
---From "Chapter 1 Essay"

Italians usually eat Aglio Olio. When they are hungry and open the fridge and there is nothing, they just grab the olive oil next to them, add garlic flavor, stir-fry pasta, pour it into a bowl without plating, and eat it while watching YouTube. This feeling is Italian Aglio Olio.
---From "Please Don't Look for Me in a Restaurant_Aglio Olio"

If there is a dish that is popular in Italy and also best suits the Korean palate, it is this seafood risotto.
It has the savory taste of the sea from seafood that Koreans love and the savory taste of land from Parmesan cheese, and it even has a little acidity and freshness from tomato paste, so it goes on and on without any fishy taste.
---From "Risotto that Targets Korean Tastes_Seafood Risotto"

When you think of traditional Italian food, you think of juicy, huge T-bone steaks and thick pasta covered in cheese, but in reality, the closer you get to tradition, the further away it is from those things.
As was the case in almost every country in the world in the past, in Italy the common people were always poor, and meat was a special ingredient that was only seen once in a while.
Beans, the inexpensive protein that replaced them, have long been popular as a protein for everyone, and even in this age of abundance, beans remain a deeply rooted tradition and an essential ingredient in Italian cuisine.
---From "Bean Pasta That Fills Your Heart"

If you're feeling like you're in the mood for a special dinner at a fancy restaurant in Milan in the 80s, congratulations.
You absolutely must make this dish.
In Korea, when we say "steak," we usually mean a thick piece of meat lightly sprinkled with salt and pepper, grilled in hot oil until smoking hot on a pan until the meat is golden brown on both sides, and served with vegetables sautéed in butter. However, Italian-style cream steak, full of the luxurious 80s sensibility, is completely different.
The meat is lightly coated in flour and cooked over a low heat until tender, then flavored with cream, Dijon mustard, and green pepper, and finished with cognac – a dish that is the epitome of luxury.
---From "80s Classic Steak_Green Pepper Cream Steak"

This is my mom's Christmas secret recipe, always receiving rave reviews from guests! It's the ultimate Christmas dish, perfectly suited to the warm spirit of Christmas. Slowly braising beef in red wine, it's seasoned with warm herbs like rosemary and cinnamon. Finally, after a long wait, you take a bite and feel the warmth fill your mouth.
---From "Christmas Secret_Red Wine Stewed Beef"

I first tried it when I was a college student in Naples and I thought it was even better than the original tiramisu.
Strawberry tiramisu, which is made with refreshing strawberries and mascarpone cream, is a fresh and refreshing dessert that is easy to eat without feeling burdened at any time.
Whenever I post a tiramisu video, one of the comments I always get is, “Is there a tiramisu that even kids can enjoy?” If you have family members who don’t like coffee or are sensitive to caffeine, strawberry tiramisu is a great alternative!
