Into the book
- Mom's English spreads and develops in different ways in each household and for each child.
But the core is the same.
Mom's English is about creating an English exposure system and routine that consistently utilizes English books and videos.

- A 13-year-old child who has never heard classical music in his or her life may find it the most boring and alien music in the world, but a child who grew up listening to classical music from a young age will remember not only the comfort it provides, but also the melodies that filled his or her room as a child and the moments and scenes he or she heard the music.
And you will be equipped with a 'gene' that will allow you to enjoy classical music for the rest of your life.
Even Mom's English starts by making English sounds like that.

- To speak English in a truly motherly way, a mother must know her own temperament well.
If you are a mother who is impatient and feels like your passion will turn into greed and take over your child, it may be better to use an academy to separate yourself from your child, even if only for a short time.

- Scientists who study children's brains and development analyze children's 'behavior' rather than 'language'.
Because it is more accurate data.
In particular, a child's 'eyes', where their gaze lingers and how long they remain there, provide a great deal of clues about the child.
In other words, the true English output at this age may not be the few English words a child spits out, but the gaze fixed on an English picture book read by his mother, the sound of his mouth gulping as he waits for the next sentence, and the hands like ferns turning the pages with perfect timing.

- In conclusion, a child's English has no absolute correlation with the mother's English ability.
(…) Nowadays, we can use media to create a better English environment for our children, and sometimes, a mother’s poor English can even help her child improve his or her English skills.
Above all, the shelf life of mother's English is shorter than you think.

- The current English level of the high school SAT and the English education curriculum require that children have the literacy level of American college students or native English-speaking children of the same age by the time they reach the third year of high school.
Because of this, children who only believed in elementary and middle school level English textbooks and thought English was easy are bound to be confused after entering high school.
So, to avoid being embarrassed and frustrated later, we need to help them build their English skills by focusing on listening and reading so that they can at least listen and read English comfortably.

- My purpose in writing this book is to help mother readers successfully complete the first 10 years of their English education.
I hope this book serves as a friendly guide for mothers to teach their children English before elementary school, or even before the age of 10.
I hope that my 20 years of experience raising my two sons in English will help quench the thirst of other mothers.
And finish learning English with Mom's method within 10 years and wash your hands of it.
Then, when the child becomes a middle or high school student, I hope that we can achieve the thrilling fruit of 'getting my mother's life back' together.

- We often see children who are good at reading and reading quickly in their native language develop tremendous potential when they encounter English.
If your child gets into an English novel on his own, that's game over.
If the mother is not confident in English and the child is also having difficulty with English, it is a good idea to boldly change direction and focus on the native language.

- After the '10 years of mother's way' of creating good habits, the next 10 years are '10 years of mother's way of practicing, waiting, and observing.'
The mother should lead the way for the first 10 years, and the child should lead the mother for the last 10 years.

Publisher's Review
The Ultimate Guide for Parents Worried About Parenting and English Education for Their Children
The "20 Years of Saebyeokdal Mom's English Report" contains all the accumulated know-how of Saebyeokdal Mom's English.

This book contains the practical know-how accumulated by the author, who first used the expression “Mom’s English” in 2000 and became a hot topic, while working in the English education field for the past 20 years.
This is a revised edition of the 2016 publication of “Mom’s English 17 Year Report,” which has been updated with new content.

The author has once again included all of the know-how she has accumulated over the past 20 years as an expert in motherly English, including her teaching methods and experiences of raising her two sons to speak English as comfortably as a native speaker while working and being a full-time housewife, her professional knowledge of language education acquired as a Chinese major, and her concerns and answers about childcare and English education accumulated through communicating with numerous mothers online and offline, in the book, “20 Years of Dawn Moon Motherly English Report.”

Why should it be Mom's English?
Wouldn't it be difficult to learn English from a mother's perspective?

The author cites Noam Chomsky's theory, noting that the brains of children aged 0 to 10 have a "language acquisition device" that naturally acquires language.
This means that children at this age can acquire English comfortably as if it were their native language if they are naturally exposed to English sounds.
They also say that children should 'learn English through play' rather than 'study' it.
Ultimately, the only environment that can expose children to English and allow them to naturally learn English is the home, where sufficient time is spent using English videos, English picture books, and English songs that are appropriate for the child's "tendency" and "level."
This is a method that is difficult to achieve in English kindergartens or academies that focus on learning, and is only possible through motherly English.
Nowadays, thanks to YouTube and various OTT services, it is easier than ever to access English content such as English videos and English nursery rhymes, making it much easier to practice motherly English.
The author goes on to detail in the book how to utilize these services and what English language channels are good to share with children.

Mom's English for Self-Development

The author is also known for his excellent English skills.
However, the author was not good at English from the beginning.
Rather, she says that her current English skills are entirely thanks to the motherly English she practiced while raising her two children.
In order to create a mother-style English environment for her children, she continuously practiced things such as transcribing and memorizing English conversation books for children and talking to them, reading English picture books every day, and recording and reading English texts aloud, and her English skills have become outstanding.
Thanks to that, I was able to work for a global company and am currently active as an English education expert.
The author says that Mom's English is not just for children, but also for mothers themselves, and shares stories of mothers who have actually developed themselves through Mom's English.

Mom's English Focused on Child and Relationships

Many parents believe that they can never educate their children themselves.
There are many reasons, but the biggest one is the concern that forcing children to learn will destroy the relationship with them.
However, the author says that the mother's English had a more positive impact on her relationship with her child than anything else.
The author says that in order to create a successful English environment for mothers, she began to pay closer attention to her child, and by understanding her child's mind, she was able to understand what kind of person she was and form a mature and healthy relationship with her child.

This book not only contains the beginning and end of Mom's English, but also provides clues to concerns about parenting.
It will be the best guide for many mothers in Korea who are concerned about their children's education and English.
