Description
Book Introduction
We have newly edited the grand prize winner in the creative writing category of the 10th Changbi 'Good Children's Book' manuscript contest, 'Chojeongri Letter'.
This work received rave reviews from the judges, calling it “a masterpiece that combines historical awareness with the fun of storytelling.” The story of a boy named Jang-un growing up to be a stonemason despite hardships contains the story of the creation of the Korean alphabet. Through an engaging story filled with the protagonist's dreams and frustrations, it vividly portrays how Hangul, which permeated the lives of the lower classes during the Joseon Dynasty, transformed their lives. |

This book contains 10 fairy tale collections selected by children's literature critics and 25 of the most beloved full-length fairy tales of the past 35 years.
From Kwon Jeong-saeng to Hwang Seon-mi, this series features 75 representative authors and 106 works that can be considered masterpieces of creative fairy tales. It is no exaggeration to say that it is the greatest selection of Korean children's literature.
In today's competitive world, where children need comfort and encouragement, I recommend 'literature', which will soothe their hearts and open up new worlds of imagination.
The Essence of 35 Years of Korean Children's Literature: The Masterpieces of Changbi Children's Library
Changbi Children's Library began in 1977 with the publication of Lee Won-su's fairy tale collection, "Little Ok-i."
At a time when there were few books that readers could easily purchase and read, and the publishing market itself was weak, the launch of Changbi Children's Library was an event that truly opened the era of creative fairy tales in Korea and laid the foundation for domestic children's literature to grow into published works.
Now, 35 years later, the children's book market has grown significantly larger and more diverse, and Changbi Children's Library has now published its 270th book.
By consistently collecting works that have become classics across generations, Changbi Children's Library has been at the center of Korean children's literature, both past and present.
‘Changbi Children’s Library Representative Fairy Tales’, compiled in 35 volumes, is the definitive edition of our children’s literature.
