Epilogue_『The Foundation of a Rich Life』, in your hands
Into the book
I can somewhat accept the statement that Jesus came so that “the sheep may have life.”
Because we already knew and believed that Christians would receive life and salvation and enter heaven without eternal destruction.
The part that was difficult for me was the latter part, “It is to give you more abundance.”
Jesus tells us that he has called us not simply to save us, but to live a much richer life, a life that is truly attractive, balanced, and beautiful on this earth.
The problem, however, is that when I look at the Christians around me, I don't get the feeling that their lives are truly 'abundant' or 'overflowing.'
In many cases, the opposite was true.
I've seen people who are more sloppy than generous, stubborn than generous, self-centered than considerate of others, and detached from the world, dogmatic, and self-righteous than those who think broadly about society and history.
I was confused and worried.
"Jesus said he came to give us a more abundant life, so why can't Christians experience it? Why is this so? What exactly is the abundant life granted to Christians?" This question has haunted me for quite some time, ever since the beginning of my religious life.

This book is not written simply for reading.
Just reading a book doesn't make its contents your own.
This book can be truly effective only when used as a discipleship training textbook.
This book is designed to be used one-on-one by two people.
While gathering together with others to converse can be helpful for personal reflection and reflection, it can actually be a hindrance to discipleship training.
This training program is a 12-week program where you read and meditate on the relevant section each week, apply it to your life, meet with leaders and followers to share the content, and work on assignments throughout the week to grow together (for more information, see How to Use This Book).
--- p.14-15
Let me say this again: Christianity is not a religion where we move God with our devotion to fulfill our wishes and will.
Rather, by hearing, understanding, and believing what God has done, my desires are purified and matured in accordance with God's will.
For this, faith is really important, and that faith is not a faith that believes what I want to believe, but a faith that truly accepts what God has done.
Faith is a whole-hearted affirmation of what God has done and will do.
--- p.
86
It is important to adapt to your changed self.
It is important to learn how to live in the grace God gives us through Jesus Christ.
It would be truly unfortunate to live our lives thinking of the gift of salvation as nothing more than a ticket to heaven.
The reality of salvation is found in what happened to us in Christ Jesus and with Christ.
Loving us in Christ is rejoicing in what God has done at such a high price.
To no longer accept what we were before we were in Christ is to accept by faith what God has done.
--- p.207
Living as a disciple of the gospel of the kingdom of God means personally fulfilling oneself by following the Holy Spirit, becoming a true spiritual example for the next generation, and becoming a stepping stone toward God for those who seek Him, constantly pursuing good works in the world.
As a community, we strive to find good works for our community to do, proclaim God's rule, and await the consummation of God's kingdom.
In this way, we participate in the Messiah's ministry of healing and restoring all things.
This is the 'abundant life'.
Now that we have firmly established the foundation of life for the people of God's kingdom, let us live wonderful and beautiful lives.
So, when He comes, I pray that we can all stand before Him with joy.

Publisher's Review
The essential message of Christianity over the past two thousand years
The "holy methodology" passed down to this day: one-on-one discipleship training.
The origin of this book was the author's personal concerns.
In the New Testament, Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10), and although the statement that he came “that they may have life,” was accepted, the statement that he came “that they may have it abundantly” was not accepted.
This is because most Christians I encounter in the real world are more slovenly than prosperous, more stubborn than generous, more self-centered than considerate of others, and more dogmatic and self-righteous than those who think broadly about society and history, detached from the world.
Jesus said he came to give us a more abundant life, but the author pondered why Christians are not living an abundant life and what the abundant life that Christians are allowed to do is. In this book, the author easily explains the Christian life based on biblical teachings and values through the relationship between God, oneself, the community, and the world.
A life of abundant life is one in which you take care of yourself in a biblical way, build healthy relationships with those around you, and fulfill your role in the life you live.
The author says that the 'Gospel of the Kingdom of God' teaches us the principles and methods for living as people who serve Jesus Christ as the main character, not only in the church but also in the world, as beings who have been transformed by Jesus Christ.
In this respect, the word ‘foundation’ in the title of this book, ‘The Foundation of an Abundant Life’, is closer to the meaning of ‘foundation’ rather than ‘basic’.
The purpose of this book is to help you build a foundation on the gospel of the kingdom of God, grow upright on that foundation throughout your life, and live a life full of vitality with firm roots.
“The Foundation of an Abundant Life” is not a book written simply to be read.
Because just reading a book doesn't make its contents your own.
This book is best used as a discipleship training textbook, so it must be studied in conjunction with the "Basic Workbook for an Abundant Life."
Additionally, this book is designed to be used one-on-one by two people.
While gathering together with others to converse can be helpful for personal reflection and reflection, it can actually be a hindrance to discipleship training.
This training program is a 12-week program where you read and meditate on the relevant section each week, apply it to your life, meet with leaders and followers to share the content, and work on assignments throughout the week to grow together.
God, who called us as a body, created us to grow normally when we are in a healthy Christian community.
Two people are the smallest unit that can form a community.
As two people learn and practice following Jesus together, they can become lifelong spiritual partners in Christ.
When those who truly follow the Lord gather together in this way, workers of the 'Gospel of the Kingdom of God' who can renew the Korean church will be raised up.
Why Christians Don't Enjoy the "Abundant Life"
The author summarizes the three reasons why Christians fail to live abundant lives:
First, it is because they do not accept Jesus' teachings as they are.
In other words, although we talk about Jesus countless times, Christians are ignorant of what Jesus really wanted to teach.
In particular, the problem is that the 'gospel of the cross' and the 'kingdom of God' are not integrated but are understood as separate things.
Because emphasizing one side does not only lead to the loss of half, but also to a serious distortion of the whole truth.
The second reason is that we have not properly learned and mastered these teachings.
No matter how good a teaching or life is, if there is no process of sharing, learning, and mastering it, it cannot become your own.
As Jesus demonstrated through his life, truth is not something that can be acquired simply through intellectual acquisition, but is holistic.
The third reason is that we have lost our balanced life.
Balance here means living a Christian life in all areas of our lives.
For these reasons, Christians are unable to enjoy or reveal the abundant life they should be enjoying and revealing.
"The Foundation of an Abundant Life" guides us to learn, practice, and acquire the foundation for a balanced life based on the gospel of the kingdom of God in community.
Why is spreading the gospel of the kingdom of God important?
The lineage of Christian history has been passed down not by any organization, denomination, power, or school, but by those who have infused the gospel of the kingdom of God into their own personalities and lives and passed it on.
Just as the Apostle Paul passed on the gospel to Timothy, looking upon the four spiritual generations (Paul-Timothy-believing person-other people) from himself, the history of Christianity has come to what it is today because there were people who lived and spread the gospel.
Of course, the greatest beneficiary of evangelism is none other than the evangelist.
The more you spread the gospel, the clearer it becomes within you.
For those who have accepted the gospel and shared it with no one, it is merely an abstract concept, but for those who share it, they experience it as the “power of God” (Romans 1:16) that deepens within them and transforms the lives of others.
This process of transmission involved the suffering, persecution, and martyrdom of countless people.
Their noble efforts and dedication must be carried on.
Therefore, there is nothing more important than living out the gospel of the kingdom of God that has transformed us within the community, passing it on to those around us and to the next generation, and thus continuing the lineage of the gospel of the kingdom of God.
How to Use the Foundations of an Abundant Life
This book is a program that has been carried out for the past 16 years with great success, mainly in churches belonging to the Nadulmok Church and the 'Hanabok DNA Network'. To achieve the same results, we recommend that you carefully examine and apply the "Seven Secrets to Failing the 'Foundation for an Abundant Life'" and the usage instructions in this book.
1.
"The Foundation of an Abundant Life" was created for those who have already decided to receive Jesus and make Him their Lord.
Those who have not yet accepted Jesus as the Lord of their lives should not use this book.
2.
"The Foundation of an Abundant Life" is a one-on-one training textbook designed for a leader who has completed the "The Foundation of an Abundant Life" leadership class to study with one follower.
Never read it alone.
For more responsible training and systematic discipleship within the community, you can receive more help by registering at http://hanabokdna.org.
3.
If you have someone ready to train with you, first set up a time and place where the two of you can study without interruption.
Also, decide in advance on a time and place where you can personally read and meditate on the contents of the textbook.
4.
It is a good idea to have a separate preparatory meeting before starting training in earnest.
At the preparatory meeting, read the introduction together, write a pledge, and pray together for the upcoming training.
5.
This textbook consists of twelve meetings, each divided into four chapters.
Ideally, you should have one meeting per week.
Each of you, set aside time each week to read, reflect on, and answer the reflection questions for each of the four chapters in this book.
And use the workbook to summarize the contents of each chapter.
6.
At the end of each meeting, there is an assignment to prepare for the next meeting.
Use the assignments in the workbook to have deep sharing between leaders and followers.
Doing your homework diligently is a very important part of this training.
