This book, which is known to have sold at least 6 million copies worldwide since its publication in England in 1935, is a collection of writings written by two anonymous women while they prayed and meditated on the Word.
The reason he wrote anonymously was because he only wanted to share God's word and not seek praise from people.


This book, which is cute enough to read just by reading one short but deep lesson and comforting words every day of the 365 days, was published in December 2007 under the title “The Voice of God.” This revised and expanded edition has now been published with 138 new articles added under the title “The Voice of the Lord.”

It is extremely difficult to assess the impact this book has had on the world over the past 70 years.
The number of copies sold so far is approximately 6 to 10 million, and hundreds of thousands of copies are still sold worldwide every year.
This massive sales figure also proves that this book is having a powerful impact on the lives of countless people.

This book was written by two women.
Neither of them sought people's praise.
Instead, they wanted to remain anonymous and be known as 'the two listeners'.
They were best friends and former teachers, and they were not well off financially.
Unfortunately, it was the same even though he was battling cancer.
But they made a very surprising claim.
Because he asserted that he had received an answer from the living Christ.

I only believed them after I read the notes they wrote and heard how they received the message.
Why should we think that the Holy Spirit, who dwells within all who follow Christ, should be a silent Spirit? The evidence we have proves the exact opposite.
I know for sure that the Holy Spirit speaks to me sometimes too.
If so, wouldn't He also enlighten and enlighten others with the Holy Spirit? Why wouldn't He speak to those who wrote this book?

Only by the guidance of the Holy Spirit
Of course, I do not want to believe that these records of meditation showed these two women everything that the Spirit of Christ had revealed, everything that the Spirit of Christ wanted to say to this generation.
But I am confident that the Spirit of Christ living within them has opened their eyes and awakened them to what they and this generation ought to know.

I don't believe this book was 'verbal inspired'.
That is, there is a clear difference and distinction from the written Bible.
However, I firmly believe that both women were led by the Holy Spirit and that much of what is written in this book clearly leads us to the Lord.

How this book was written will be explained in detail by one of the 'Two Listeners'.
Two poor but courageous women were fighting against illness and poverty.
There was no hope for them.
So one of the women longed to leave this difficult world forever.
Just then, the Lord gave them words of comfort.
Those words were thoroughly based on the Bible.

The Lord came to them every day and encouraged them.
They still had sorrow, but even then they were able to find joy and new courage.
The Lord stirred up two poor women with promises based on His Word, and then gently rebuked them for their unbelief when they failed to believe the promises.


God of comfort and encouragement
Have you lost faith? Meditate on these short passages, wherever you are.
Then, just like a child regaining his faith, you will easily regain your lost faith.
Perhaps you don't realize that the Lord is standing right beside you, with a gentle smile of comfort and encouragement.
