Descriptive Previous Exam No. 1 ADVANCED
Description
Book Introduction
Fundamentally, it provides a summary of key grammar necessary for English writing, along with English writing questions organized by stage/level to help you develop your English writing skills.
The essay section (evaluating the ability to compose English sentences), which has the highest proportion of questions in the descriptive section, is not simply about memorizing the text, but rather evaluates whether the student has basic English writing skills.
Additionally, to help you prepare for difficult descriptive questions, we have arranged descriptive written tests (6 common high-difficulty types) that are closest to the actual exam, so that you can solve descriptive questions more smoothly in the actual exam.

PART 1 Descriptive Type
We have organized the descriptive questions currently being tested in high schools into nine types and suggest learning strategies for each type.
Additionally, we have provided practice questions based on actual school exam questions to ensure more practical learning.
PART 2: High-Difficulty Writing & Practical Test
LEVEL 1.
Grammar Mix + Practice Test
In school exams, the basic part [PART 3.
As in the contents of [Comprehensive Summary of Higher Grammar and Utilization of English Writing], conditional questions such as ‘word inflection, word addition’ are more difficult and appear more frequently than simple word arrangement questions.
Additionally, the sentences that must be written are often not sentences that reflect just one grammatical element, but rather sentences that combine multiple grammatical elements.
In preparation for this, sentences containing key grammar points reflected in the Office of Education mock exam and revised textbooks are presented as writing questions.
LEVEL 2.
High-difficulty complex type + practical test
In addition to the compositions presented in LEVEL 1 (mixed grammar composition) (conditional presentations such as word inflection and addition of grammatical words), this course presents 'composition questions with additional vocabulary, word count restrictions, and reduced condition hints' as a process of solving the descriptive writing type that is considered difficult in actual exams.
We have selected key high-difficulty sentences reflected in the Office of Education mock exams and revised textbooks as writing questions.
The practice test contains the same content as the written descriptive assessment in PART 3 and presents questions most similar to those on school exams.
PART 3 Descriptive Written Assessment
This written test is designed to be as similar to the actual exam as possible, reflecting the format and content of recent school exam questions that ranked within the top 10% of national college entrance exam scores.
We have used passages from the 2018 Office of Education mock exams for first and second year high school students and the EBS College Scholastic Ability Test special lecture textbooks from the same year to help you prepare for the exam more effectively.
We excluded easy types (sentence transitions, writing referential content, describing detailed content) as much as possible, and made questions based on common high-difficulty types for each school as much as possible [correcting grammar/vocabulary, filling in blanks in the text, writing sentences with word arrangement (including word inflection and word addition), writing sentences with conditional suggestions, and writing topics/titles/main points/paragraph summaries].
In particular, this textbook focuses on the content summary type (writing topic/title/summary/paragraph summary), which is the type of writing that students make the most mistakes in.
However, essay-type questions (free/creative essay: English/Korean writing) were only included in some schools and were not given priority.
■ Commentary
To solve the most frequently asked question, 'Descriptive Writing', I tried to cover in detail the process of deriving English sentences.
In particular, we have devoted a lot of space to detailed explanations of the 'Practical Test' and 'Descriptive Written Test', which are closest to the actual test and have the highest level of difficulty.

Publisher's Review
Includes descriptive written assessments most similar to school exams!
The 2015 revised English textbook reflects key sentences and presents difficult English compositions!
Reflecting the descriptive exam codes of the top 10% of high schools nationwide!
Advanced/High School English Descriptive Textbook "No. 1 Descriptive Past Questions [ADVANCED]"
When exam period comes, students usually memorize the text to prepare for English essay questions.
For already busy high school students, memorizing textbooks, mock exams, and supplementary materials for descriptive preparation not only takes away time from studying other subjects, but also reduces efficiency because the exams do not reflect what was memorized.
The reason is that, for objective questions, sufficient preparation is possible based on a thorough understanding of the text, but for descriptive questions, where each question carries a high score enough to determine a grade, it is difficult to cope with them through short-term preparation because English expressive power is evaluated based on an understanding of the text.
Accordingly, this book presents English writing questions organized by stage/level along with a summary of key grammar necessary for English writing to fundamentally develop English writing skills.
The essay section (evaluating the ability to compose English sentences), which has the highest proportion of questions in the descriptive section, is not simply about memorizing text, but rather evaluates whether the student has basic English writing skills.
Additionally, to help you prepare for difficult descriptive questions, we have placed descriptive written tests (6 common high-difficulty types) that are closest to the actual exam, so that you can solve descriptive questions more smoothly in the actual exam.
However, sometimes we hear that people only want to solve descriptive questions that are appropriate for that school type.
It seems like an approach that focuses on testing English rather than language.
Rather, I think that if we study with a more open attitude, beyond the fence of the exam, we will be able to solve any type of new problem that comes up.
However, the idea that you can conquer the descriptive writing with just one textbook is neither correct nor the right way to learn.
In the reality where English is a foreign language, the only way to acquire a foreign language is through continuous exposure to the target language and endless corrections of the errors through the repetition of mistakes.
Your 833 attempts at problem-solving and error correction on the 833 descriptive questions presented in this book will improve your English descriptive writing.
You must compete with your competence, not with descriptive or memorization!
